Course condition
Fairways had turf that was to thin to support the ball, greens were slow
Great Day.....
.....Quail Chase is a good value and in good condition. Had played it earlier in the year and it had some winter kill in the fairways and tee boxes. It has bounced back nicely.
Afternoon 18
Great course very open and challenging. Excellent experience just got behind a 2 some that were either inexperienced golfers or playing multiple balls. Overall experience was great though
Annual golf pilgrimage
Nice staff, great greens, fairways in rough condition. Brutal rough. Gods value for the money.
Fairways need work
Greens and bunkers in great shape. Some of the best in the area. Fairways looking a little beaten up as were some of the tee boxes which is why I only ranked course condition as average. I'm sure the long winter and recent summer weather didn't help The 27 hole layout is great. Couldn't believe we had the course to ourselves. We were a twosome and did not rush but finished in about 3:20 hrs.
Course review
Course had a fun challenging layout. Greens were in great shape but fairways and rough had been left untouched.
No RANGER!!!
On the 3rd hold of the West Course, or second nine, we caught up with a group that was playing extremely slow. Hitting several shots on each tee. There were at least three open holes in front of them. We called the clubhouse and were told there was no ranger. They would not let us play through and clearly knew we and the group behind us were all backed up. This ruined our back nine since we waited on every shot.
Not as good as usual
Really like the course layout and the concept of three nines. You can play a different "course" each time. Greens were beat up with ball marks and portions of some fairways were dying off or dead. It's getting late in the season though and this can be somewhat expected on one of the heaviest played courses in the Louisville area, even with a mild summer.
Getting Better
Course has continued to improve over the past month. There is still a few patchy spots on fairways, yet the greens are in good shape. This is a popular course in the Louisville area, pace of play is always close to 4 hours. Had a Golf Now deal so very worth the price $26.
Course Is Much Improved from Spring
Course is much improved from where it was at this spring and early summer. The fairways are pretty much fully in w/ the random bare spot here and there. The tee boxes need attention (grass on them, but also alot of weeds and not level on each hole). The greens were in above average shape, but the golfers need repair their ball marks. The main issue I've encountered at the course and not just once is there is no course ranger. A group of older men did not even contemplate letting the single play in front of us thru even the he consistently waited for every shot. My group even said something to them just in case they didn't see him.
Good course.
First 9 great second fairways good condition. Will go back to play.
Course is in good shape
This was the first time I played at Quail Chase this year. I heard they had reseeded the fairways recently so I was skeptical of how the course would look. I was surprised to see the course in the best shape it's been in years. I guess all the rain we've had recently really helped the grass come in.
Good value golf course
The tees and fairways were below average, however, the bent grass greens were above average. The price was fair for what we got.
great day for golf
booked on golf now. got there and they had a tournament the same day. gave us the twilight rate instead of the full rate since we had to play the west course twice ( fair ). great day good weather fun 18. played the west 9 for the first time . recommend this club to any one,
Better
I played in May and it was terrible. Fairways are much better now, although there are still rough patches. They are reworking the bunkers with fresh sand (on the East 9 it was the consistency of confectioners sugar; I sunk in 3 inches when I stepped in to the bunker).
When I booked the round, there were two other players set for that tee time. When it was time to play, they were nowhere to be found. I called the pro shop to find that they had probably started early, so played the round alone. Not my favorite way to play.
It's a lot better than it was, I suppose I'll be back.
Great course
I've played Quail Chase a couple of times before but it has been awhile and I couldn't believe how nice the course was laid out and the conditions were excellent considering it was mid summer. It was well worth the drive to this beautiful 27 hole course that made me feel as if I were in another state entirely playing golf. The sand traps were getting new sand which made it somewhat challenging on a few holes but overall a great day at Quail Chase
My favorite
In my limited experience quail chase is one of the best bang for your buck courses in Louisville ky. It's not your tv ready course but it has 27 holes of goodness. Swing away
Good Golf
Great staff, great carts. Liked the course very much. First time there and found our way around it no prob. The fairways wide enough and the greens big enough. Lots of new grass, its like the course in on its way back. Great Job Quail Chase!
Nice course
Course is overall in good condition. Fairways have been reseeded and have bounced back pretty well. Greens are very good. Pace of play was a little slow.
So glad you had a good experience and thanks for the kind words. It has been a tough season with the winter kill but we have worked hard to come back and it is great to hear it is appreciated!
