Friendly staff
Staff is great, fairways are deplorable. They should not be charging anything over 25$ with a cart.
Zebra Fairways
If the fairways are going to be like this they need to offer a discounted rate. The rough was thick (I think that's a good thing) but there was no reward for hitting the fairways. Not sure what was going on but they were in awful condition. I had zero good lies in the fairway. I would wait a month or two before going back out there and maybe they will have grown back in. Greens were in good condition, a few still needed to grow back in from being punched earlier this year.
Great Course
At regular price it is a bit costly but the golf now price is a steal of a deal. This is every bit of a $40 a round course.
Needs time for fairways to come in.
Good course, but fairways need to come in before it will move up in rankings.
Used to be Nice
I have played this course for over 20 years. Used to be in great shape. What happened? Fairways non-existant, rough was mud/hardpan. Greens? Marginal at best. Green fees should be $25,
Great place to play
With 27 holes, this course gives you a different experience every time you play. Three different nines, some call for shot-making, others for distance; it is fun every time. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Course is recovering nicely from a very difficult winter in Kentucky. My favorite course.
Course was in horrible shape and wasnt worth the money.
When checking in at Quail Chase my group was informed we had to play the East course twice because of a golf outing on the west and south courses. We were disappointed but said okay. Before we left the clubhouse my group was also informed that it was cart path only on a 75 and sunny day. We weren't informed why but also said okay. After starting to play it was clear on how horrible the fairways were and the rough hadn't been cut all year. Also after the fact we found out that the greens on the East course were just aerated last week. That made for a horrible round of golf because of how bumpy the greens were. Remember, they made us play the East twice...... I paid a premium @ Quail Chase and expected much more for the money. To be honest my group and I left the course upset and very dissatisfied.
Poor
The course had no record of our reservation and they closed the course without contacting me.
Rough too tall
The course was not in good shape. Fairways lumpy and void of grass, rough was very deep. Very slow play. The times I've played it in the past it was in reasonably good condition but I wouldn't recommend it right now. Maybe it'll shape up in a few more weeks.
No grass on the fairways
We played 9 on the east course and the reward for hitting it in the fairway was hitting off of clumpy uneven dirt. It was better to hit it in the rough where there was grass than the fairway. Quail chase is close to home and a nice course for the money but I won't be back for a whlie.
horrible condition
The fairways are more dirt then grass right now. They need a lot of work. Greens were in good shape. 6 hour round due to 2 fivesomes playing in front of us. Not worth 25 dollars let alone 39.
Will grow in well soon
QC has always been a very nice course. The three different nine hole courses are laid out very differently and provide many different challenges.
It was a much better value in the past it seems though. I got a $20 hot now deal on Golf Now otherwise the $40 midday Monday fee and $50 weekend rate is way to steep for this course. Not sure what they are thinking with these prices.
Fairways were still dormant so it made it a little tough to get clean shots but you can tell it's going to grow in very well. Brand new fluffy sand in the bunkers, greens weathered the winter well and tee boxes look great too.
Love this course just wish they would price it competitively to other courses in the area rather than at some private club rate.
Disappointed
Fairways were in terrible shape with almost no grass on then. Course layout is hard but interesting.
First Time, But I'll Be Back!!!
The only think keeping me from giving 5 stars for course condition were some muddy patches in several fairways, but, for early spring, the course is in great condition. This was my first time playing this course and I love the challenge of it. The greens can be tricky, but reward a good read. I'm really impressed with Quail Chase, especially the friendliness of the staff. Seemed like it spread to the golfers as everyone we encountered were friendly and seemed to be having a great time. Can't wait to see this course this summer with the grass fully back as in the beautiful website photos..
No fairways
It's not really the courses fault but there were no fairway grass
quail chase
in fair shape for this time of the year, carts were on the path, greens had been mowed so they were ok
Great as always
The course is short in distance, but considering the morning rain the course was in good shape.
Nice course, bad management
First off I want to note that I'm not furious about my experiance there, however it was kind of a bad deal... The golf course it's self is decent, greens are smooth, fairways are cut ( a little too high but still not awful) and the bunkers were as nice as I have seen... However when I got there I noticed right away the place was packed... I went in to tell them I was there and the man behind the register was short, rude, and pushy... I had never been there, and asked if it mattered what course I started on, he laughed at me mockingly and said yes il tell you if you will give me a minute. He then told me what courses I was playing with no inquiry of what I preferred, and put me with 3 other guys without asking my ability compared to theirs... I had no problem with the guys, and had no problem that I had to play with them, however I played the "tips" and they played 3 tees up, and I played poorly, and still beat all three of them by 35 plus shots.... I would suggest getting a new system (asking handicaps) and asking if they have a preference of the courses... I will not be rushing back to this place soon for that reason... The only decent employee they had was the woman doing the "kitchen"...
West and East course
27 hold cours. We played west and east course.
west course is moderate. EAst course is very challenging
Great location and fair price. Nice staff.
Pleasantly surprised
Knew about Quail Chase for years, but never went down there to play. Perky electric carts, well-designed, well-maintained, and seems well-managed.
We appreciate your business and understand your comments concerning the fairways. We have just finished sprigging the fairways Monday, which is a messy process. Over the next two weeks we will need to keep the fairways watered constantly and be on the cart paths. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but the project was needed to create the best playing conditions possible in the future. We are offering a special rate because of current course conditions. Thank you for your input and we look forward to seeing you again.
