Great course, but be prepared to lose balls
We had fun at this course the 18th hole green is on an island so that's fun. But, make sure you bring plenty of golfballs with you. This course will eat them up! Alot of water and hazards. It plays right next a few housing districts. There is a main road that travels through the course, so you want to make sure you do not get hit by an on-coming car. There are an extreme amount of trees to fight around. Just be ready to have fun and don't let the hazards get in your head or you'll be buying new golf balls after you leave there. Lol.
Fair time
Good pace of play for a beginner. Playing alone, I bottle necked behind a group of 5 in front of me, who had a group of 4-5 in front of them. Played 9 holes.
The door to the clubhouse had a sign about the mask mandate, and said you can enter “this time” without a mask, but requested a mask on future visits. Staff was not customer service oriented and was not wearing a mask, and a group of 6-7 men watching football were not wearing masks either.
Decent fir practice if the price is right
It’s right in Kill Creek and has some natural beauty and decently designed holes but fairways are in bad shape. Staff was friendly but did not follow their own sign recommending state wide mandates for wearing mask in the pro shop - if you are one that cares
Great to play
Great course to practice your golf game, greens not terribly decent, and layout is quite nice
Good deal for the money
Good value. Some greens are a little tough, and most are small. Challenging if playing the course for the first time. Very friendly people.
First time
Interesting layout with lots of trees &water. For a first timer better directions to tee boxes would help. Greens and fairways need water. Need to hit it straight Narrow fairways and trees will eat golf balls.
Bad
Read several reviews about the course before going, many of them saying how beat up and bad the course was. I am a very new golfer so being naive and optimistic I ignored the bad reviews and went in with a positive attitude. Lesson learned to trust the reviews. Everything they say is true. Ground may as well be made of concrete because it’s so hard, even after weeks of solid rain. Tee boxes are mostly dirty, some the ones with mats are the good ones. Some fairways are playable but most are patchy and hard. Greens are half dead and sandy. Pretty interesting layout, has potential if management ever figures out how to grow grass. The guy at the desk was nice, but a guy on the course who we think was a grounds keeper scolded us for driving on a patch of dirt he called a tee box, seriously the ground looked like a middle eastern warzone. Overall very poor experience, I wouldn’t only come here again if everything else in Kansas was booked.
Fun time
Fun golf course. Lots of interesting holes that will challenge your short game. Greens are in good shape.
First time we played it so not that familiar with layout.
Target golf to the max.
Met the owner who was cutting grass and doing course maintenance.
Friendly people and fun round. 3 hours but we weren’t pushing it.
Really organic golf course with unique holes. Unlike anything in Kansas City area
Pack your swimsuit!
The course wasn't terrible, it was absolutely atrocious. The pace of play was brutal. We were backed up throughout the entire 18 holes. Apparently at this so-called golf course, you don't have to book a tee time, which is probably why it was so backed up. The tee boxes were terrible, so if you're looking to hit your first shot from the ground, you might as well head to a different course. The fairways were about as good as the grass you find in your backyard. I forgot to pack my swimsuit for the course when I went, but the sprinklers didn't show any mercy on me while I was lining up my putt on hole 7. Next time I'll remember to bring the swimsuit! Easily the worst golf course I will play in my life.
Fun and Challenging
First time playing this course. Had a lot of fun. It has some different holes that are challenging but still fun to play for a couple of beginner golfers. We will play it again. Staff was super nice. Girlfriend commented multiple times how nice the lady in the club was.
Unpleasant
My wife and I reserved a tee time online. Arrived an hour early, ended up teeing off ~20-30mins after designated tee time due to lack of carts. Majority of players at course appeared to be locals playing in 4-8 person groups, drinking heavily (which I'm fine with), and taking an excessive amount of time on holes clogging up pace of play. Course was not following any COVID-19 safety protocol whatsoever. When we did tee off, tee boxes and fairways were in horrible condition. Local referred to it as "the goat pasture". Took us +2 hours to finish 9 holes due to pace of play. We stopped after 9 holes and went home it was so bad.
Interesting layout
This course has an interesting layout, especially the back nine with multiple par 3 holes.
Needed some control today
The first 9 were fine but the back nine became a zoo. A twosome cut in front of me between 9 and 10 and when I called them out they blamed how slow the course was playing off of #1 (what t-times did you and the others have????). The first fairway had 3 carts on it and a couple teeing off with their two poodles in the cart that were barking. Zoo or golf course? People that were behind me didn't' like the wait and would cut through other holes to jump ahead of me and the others in front of me. I've never seen such an uncontrolled course today which I hate as I actually like the course but today too many cowboys.that didn't' have any golf etiquette ruined the day. Cut out the walk-on's and most of it wouldn't have happened.
