Painted Hills Golf Club

The course conditions were great. The course had already completed its fall aeration leaving the greens in perfect conditions. Pace of play was less than 3.5 hours. The staff is always accommodating and other players respond accordingly.

I realize what might appear to me as some tlc regarding course condition might actually be expensive repairs. However the traps have been pretty unplayable all year. I enjoy playing the course however, and play there often. The layout is fun and just right for my game at the moment. The staff is always friendly and attentive and the greens fees are very much in line for the course, in my opinion. We will definitely be back again and again!

This course was AWFUL. Half the time we were hitting off dirt in the fairways and there was only 1 or 2 holes in decent playing condition. Crabgrass all over the tee box and greens, sand traps were completely filled with grass and weeds, and it looked like the course hadn’t been watered all summer. Also, pace of play was awful with many first-time golfers slowing the pace down and no golf staff to tell them to speed up.

Unfortunately, the hot summer has been tough on Painted Hills. The new Zoysia is not taking in all the places they put it down leaving one hole tough to play (12?). The greens were longer but well watered with only two of them having been hit by moles. Overall still a fun course for my daughter and I to play and we’ll be back. Hopefully some rain will fall and help all of us out!

WOW! Beautiful golf course with amazing greens. Looks like they are stripping in Zosia fairways which will be great! Can't wait to see the end result. Don't like the bunkers? Don't hit it there!

Great staff, as usual. Course needs TLC, but a great value for what it has to offer.

A few unruly guys accusing others of picking up their ball. A roaming Marshall would be a good remedy to those types of situations. Overall, a nice way to spend part of my Saturday with my girlfriend and her son. We will be back regularly.

Have played Painted Hills many times over the years and unfortunately, the condition of the tee boxes and fairways was as bad as I’ve ever seen if at Painted Hills. The greens weren’t too bad but I can’t understand what happened to the fairways. Seems that ever since Great Life took over the course, the conditions have worsened...

Fairways were in really bad shape. They have strips of tall grass and strips of low grass. Not sure what’s going on with that but it’s pretty annoying.

I have played this course many times and have found it very nice. Unfortunately, I found the course to be in poor shape. Fairways were not in good condition for this early of the season. There was no marshall out to govern the pace of play. In fact, never saw a marshall and golfers playing multiple balls per hole. Not a good experience.

Could be a decent course. Several holes have fairways where they have strip sodded and it's not taking so you are hitting off dead grass. Some fairways are cart path only. Most of the ball washers are not there and the few that are don't have water in them. Tee areas are so hard you break as many tees trying to get them in the ground as you do when teeing off. Not impressed with Great Life so far. Only play there if a significantly discounted rate is available.

The staff was great. Really appreciate their support. Greens were in great shape. Fairways could use some work but for the cost, this is a great deal. I will certainly be back for another round.

Beautiful afternoon , course was in good condition. I am just your average golfer and really enjoyed the golf course.

It’s a course with a lot of character and some holes that really challenge you to practice course management with your round and fun to play. However, it is in need of some serious capital investment. The sandtraps, fairways, golf carts and facilities are all pretty sloppy and dilapidated.

This course is usually not in the best condition. This time they were fixing multiple fairways, which was nice. But there was no heads up on that when I booked my round. We had to skip three holes. This course isn’t in good enough condition from cart to course for the 36$ they charge.
