Course Good Shape - No Cart

This is my "go to" course in central Maine. Was not on GolfNow last year, so I was happy to see it was this year.Greens were exceptional - slow but very puttable. Fairways and tee boxes average. Only problem was:the Hot Deal price did not include a cart as it does on every other course I've ever played on a Hot Deal. Green fees for 18 holes, but $25 extra for a cart. No thanks, so I walked just 9 because it was so hot. And had fun. GolfNow needs to put on Salmon Falls page that the cart is not included.

First Time Very Pleased

Played Salmon Falls for first time yesterday and was very pleased. Will definitely play course again!! In fact, I have a reservation for next Monday!!

Course is a little out of the way. The drive to the course was nice, a little circuitous, but I found it.

The person in the club house was very accommodating, pleasant and hospitable. She pointed me to the 1st tee and off I went. The fairways were well defined and cut nicely, tee boxes offer 4 locations (I played the red and blue), green were very well maintained and looked fantastic for a 9 hole local public course. Maybe the best green I’ve putted on in a long while. The rough is really rough, but fortunately the fairways are wide and I hit most of them.

It had rained profusely for two days earlier this week so I pushed my reservation back 1 day. Glad I did! The course drained well and the surfaces were quite firm , much to my surprise!! I didn’t experience any really soft or muddy areas. The only things I found issues with were that the cart paths are in need of repair, they were quite bumpy and rutted. As I approached the tee at #7/#16 I had to wait for the mower to get out of my way. He never stopped mowing the fairway I was aiming for. Usually the grounds crews get out of your way, stop mowing and turn off their machines when you are in the area they’re working!

I had a nice first round and look forward to playing again next Monday!

Thumbs up for Salmon Falls

Greens in fabulous condition. Amp dead spots. All same speed, smooth rolls.

Layout is ok. Couple very short holes some legit holes. Tow holes with trees in fareway.

Staff all friendly. Good menu , no water on course. Fareways dry but to be expected.

Would easily play again.
