Strange
Very disappointed. App said 4 stars, I give it 1. Cart path only while we were there, had not had rain for a week or so. Tee boxes looked like a freshly mowed hay field, some difficult to find grass, although 3 were nice. One hole was a completely blind tee shot. Had to hit over trees down into a creek basin, turns out the best shots were left or right, but not down the middle. We agreed this was the worst course we had ever played.
Unorganized staff
Tee time was schedule for 10am. We arrived at 9:45 and the manager asked if we were in a hurry today. Told them no. He proceeded to send two groups of ladies off in front of us at our scheduled tee time which pushed our start to 10:20. The ladies ended up playing 9 holes. When we made the turn there was a line of about 4 carts waiting to go off 1 and 10. We had 2 4 somes going off 10 in front of us which held us up once again. Course in worse shape I've seen in in last 2 years. Overall not the greatest experience. Recommend sending a ranger out to ensure the pace of play is a bit smoother.
The course front nine is good
I like this course the front nine is good. The fifth hole is a par 5 up a big hill. The back nine is tuff very hilly.
OK but needs attention
Clubhouse staff was helpful. Unable to determine tee boxes, markers down or missing. Some tee boxes and fairways in good shape while some are not so good, especially near greens. I have played better for the money on Golfnow. Probably not coming back any time soon.
Horrible
I have golfed here before and the conditions of the course were absolutely horrible. Tee boxes were as long as the rough!
Poorly maintained and managed
Don't waste your time. We waited every hole. When we made the turn, there were 4 groups waiting. We chose to play the front nine again. You try to give the new owner's a chance. (See review title) Never again. Would rather pay a few dollars more and play a well maintained Hickory Sticks.
Slow Play
Very slow play. People don't know gold etiquette. Course prices were good. Fairways and greens in bad Condition!
Course
The course itself was in horrible condition. The greens were all in bad condition. Tee-boxes and fairways were all torn up.
How to treat golfers right!
Couldn't feel more at home, everyone was very friendly and accommodating. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to play a round without a hassel from the staff.
Nice course. Needs a marshall
Second time playing this course in a week. Same time of day same day of the week. First time 18 holes in less than 4 hours on a Sunday. Course was in good condition, greens were great. It is what drew us back.
Second time out was yesterday. 12 holes played in 3:45 minutes. We could not do it any longer, so we left the course. Holes #16, 17 and 18 were wide open. That told us it was one group somewhere three holes ahead of us that had us all back up. A ranger/marshall would have solved the issue. Never saw one. We lost our playing partners after the 11th hold. We saw another foursome leave.
Gorgeous day spoiled by some group of careless golfers.
First Time
Great course for the value, challenging, fun to play, greens in great shape, definitely worth the trip. I would recommend playing this course
Worth the price and drive
This course is often has the best hot deal on golf now which is very attractive for someone golfing on a budget. It's about 30 minutes out from the city which is a nice change of pace. Because the deals are so great there are often a lot of golfers from different skill levels out on the course. Also there was some sort of scramble that started in the middle of our round throwing people infront of us and behind us, so we skipped a hole to try to get ahead which did help. The course could use someone driving around to ensure pace of play is being kept but I will definetly be back. I suggest calling ahead if possible to ensure that there are no leagues going on.
Friendly, Not heavy on the wallet
Staff is great. Concession prices fair. Surprised at what a value food and beverages are. Compared to other courses in area, this is a great deal.
Much improved
We played this course when it was FLAG SPRINGS, and conditions have been improved greatly. Several tough holes demanding exact tee shots to the greens or fairways. Good for the buck. played on a cloudy cool Friday and just about had the course to ourselves. Watch for specials !
use every club kind of course
fairways are in pristine condition. greens run true. very strategic course. great for all skill levels
Totally agree. I enjoy the front 9. The back nine kicks my butt.
