I would like to provide an update from Flagg Springs Golf Course. Hole #5 green has been under construction for most of the summer. We have had this posted on the desk and website to keep customers up to date on the matter. An aggressive attempt to remove a very crabgrass infested green has lead to sparse grass and therefore we closed it to allow for better recovery. Hole #6 also suffered slightly from this. All other greens have been in great shape all year. The most improved area this year has to be our tee areas. The plant health has been such that at times they seem a bit long, however we have been an a three times per week cutting for the entire summer and as a result, they are as healthy as ever.
Course was in BAD shape !!
Hole 4 green was shut down, they put up aa flag stick in the middle of the fairway . Tee boxes haven't been cut in several days . The grass was taller than the 3 inch tees we use. Several other greens should have been closed. I played there early in the year and it was nice, now it seems like they don't care about it. Maybe its up for sale ???
The course needs woork
Hole 4 green is shut down. Would be nice if you was informed of this before playing. Also green 5 in bad shape. Coarse has potential I enjoyed playing there. I was in a 4 some had to let several 2 somes and singles play thru..
Not worth the money
The green where in very poor shape ! Some of the greens was shut down and they pput up a flag stick in the middle of the fairways with a circle around it for your auto 2 putt . Most of the tee boxes hadn't been cut in days, the grass was soo tall that it was even taller than my 3 in tees. Normally I don't write bad reviews but I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN !!! They should post about the greens and the shape of the course. I drove 45 minutes to play there.
Nice place!
Enjoyed the course. It was in good condition all the way around. Very good for the price. Open layout, different elevations.
Great course with super nice staff.
The course was in great shape. Greens were smooth, fairways nicely cut, and play moved at a comfortable pace. Staff was as friendly as ever, and worked with us to get us on the course as scheduled. Wednesday morning is a scramble event, and they were pushing our 12:00 tee time. Staff made everything work. Joined up with some locals, and their course knowledge and friendliness made the day a treat. Well worth the trip to this facility.
nice course
par 5 green is dead had tempory green in fairway rest of the course in great shape
A Typical Goat Track
Flagg Springs has been around for some time and the original intent of the course was great. Unfortunately, mismanagement and more mismanagement has lead to what you see today- which is a very short course that features a funky layout, poor markings, and some combination of holes that are seemingly always under some sort of repair.
This course seems to cater to fun-type leagues, juniour golfers, and your everyday average joe golfer... And that's okay, there needs to be courses like this everywhere to serve that market.
BUT if you are a player that thrives on a challenge, expects more from a facility, and is willing to pay for the experience, there are much better options without having to drive halfway to Maysville.
And if you want food, you'll have to stop at the gas station down the road. They never seem to make any food (even though they have a full kitchen and decent dining area) and the people are usually pretty rude.
Nice Staff fun course
Great for new golfers however not very challenging for better golfers. Im a 12 hdcp and carded a 77 with ease. Will be back with my wife and daughters good course for them.
some eally hard holes
it helps to have played this course before. position off the tee is very important on a few holes. this course was a diamond in the rough. my 8 and 10 year old sons, and i, really had a great time.
Great course in Northern Kentucky
I really enjoyed playing here, the course is in really good shape. There is 1 green that is spotty though. The course is fairly open, however there are a few holes on the back 9 that make you keep it tight, you will know it when you get there.
I've played a couple of times on various days, and have never run into slow play problems. Like most courses, the best times for more open play are evenings.
Staff is great, they have everything you need in regards to food, drinks, golf equipment, etc.
Highly recommend this course, they have specials during the week and you can always find a deal on Golfnow. If you are in the Cincinnati/NKY area, you should definitely check it out.
Flagg Springs
For $20 for 18 holes and cart can't complain too much. There were 2 holes where the greens were not greens. They were more like sand traps, they were so burned up. We had a tee time at 9:22 but an outing was let out half hour before and there were 2 groups in front of us so play was really slow.
Course has Friendly staff
Front nine is more open then the back. Great place for my beginning kid to go. Couple of the greens needed some work, otherwise well maintained and a good place to play.
Great round of golf
Course was great people and golfers were excellent. Will play at this course when ever possible
Much nicer than it was 5 years ago
The front nine is much easier than the back, although the greens on 5 and 6 need some work. The clubhouse has been updated and my overall opinion of the course has been improved greatly over the last time I was there.
great day
perfect day of golf, wide open course, a little hilly,
couple of long par 5's, only negative was two greens
that were badly in need of repair. Course was busy bur not crowded, leading to nice pace of play
Torn up!
Hilly, in bad shape, couldn't even try to read the greens. For the money it wasn't bad however I most likely will not golf here again.
Rough shape to start the season!
They were cutting the grass for the first time this season I believe! Course was in rough shape!
Big elevation changes
Place looked great. Fairway/ greens looked great.$10 for 18 holes is awesome. 2 minor issues: more signage needed, cart could barely make it up hills( had to get out and walk some).
Burnt greens and tee boxes
This course has greens that are completely burnt up and are unable to be putted on. Tee boxes are the same condition. Very poor condition.
