Ocean City Golf Club - Seaside
About
Ocean City Golf Club offers two championship courses: Newport Bay and Seaside. Opened in 1959, the Seaside Course is the club's original layout and since opening it has remained an Eastern shore favorite. It has a more traditional design than the other course, which underwent a renovation and rebuild. Seaside offers classic greens tightly lined with bunkers that are balanced with wide-open, player-friendly fairways. It is a challenging but playable test that is popular amongst locals. Five sets of tees make it even more approachable. The views of the marshes and bay, as well as the trees, give the course the feel of one in the Carolinas. In addition to the two courses, Ocean City Golf Club also offers a driving range and putting green before teeing off.

Reviews
Pretty good time. Got behind 4 foursomes of women who were competing for some state thing. They were ridiculous with the time they took.
Will not play again
Complete dog track… course was horrible and course marshall was rude to us.
Course Unplayable
I had never played here before. We had received a ton of rain. I was surprised the course open. The starter informed me it was cart path only, which I expected considering the amount of rain we had. I played 9 holes and quit. The course was unplayable. You couldn’t take relief from casual water because there was no relief. Balls disappeared in the fairway plugged below the surface. I guess they’ll do anything for money.

Don’t go there, terrible condition everywhere. Don’t go
Avoid it if you can.
Driving up the fairways looked weird and at that time I had no idea what was going on. Asked the Pro Shop employee and he explained that the front nine last year was closed for reseeding. Well the fairways on all 18 looked the same. They were patchy at best and completely saturated by 3 inches of 2 days prior. The weather has nothing to do with the lack of grass. I’ve played 5 different courses since January and none looked remotely like this. I think it’s going to take many more months before it resembles what a fairway should look like.
I personally do not like playing target golf. Almost half the holes seemed to have some kind of significant dog leg to them.
I think the next time I play there I’ll definitely play Newport as that offer much nicer views of the water. Seaside is just tree lined and no views of the water besides a pond or two. . Hopefully the fairways are not in the same condition.
Not For Me
$85 for a round of Golf during the “off season for a course that at best is “ok”. Wasn’t worth the $$
No gps on cart, so unless u are playing with a member, navigating the course is a challenge. That would be the one thing that makes it not worth the $$. Price included 12 range balls.
Practice area is decent.
Greens in great shape. Fairways had been over seeded for winter, fair shape for October.
Not a course to bomb your driver unless u are very accurate.
Played 50
Bag drop and starter clueless. Steve at the bag drop in 40 years of playing golf all the world is the rudest and nastiest individual and should never have direct contact with the public.
Nice Cc layout
Great condition, nice old school layout, mostly open, great staff, limited choice of sugar free drinks
More like Swampside
Just disappointed we picked it cause it's called "Oceanside" and there was no ocean. Just swamps.
STW
Enjoyed the round course was in good condition but we had to play the back nine two times. Unknown at the time the Tee time was selected and scheduled didn’t know the front nine was shut down until we were advised by the starter just before our Tee time.
They left us play harbor bay instead of seaside for the same money because seaside you had to play nine holes twice. Very
Very
Accommodating. five star on allowing us to play the better course.
Ranger Harassment
Our foursome tee'd off at 11:32. While on the tee box a twosome sat waiting behind us. All four pared the first 2 holes & 3 pared 3rd. At 4th tee box ranger drove up and said we were 2 minutes off the pace and to speed up. We were 30 minutes into our round. There were 3 twosomes behind us. Starters need to learn to pair up, plus 9 of 18 holes were closed. Same starter approachesd us on back and asked "did you guys pick up the pace." We won't return to a beautiful course. Ranger--red shirt and brown beard(needs terminated). Ruined my personal best round of the summer.
Disappointing experience
The staff at the course were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the cooler got flagged. No problem. However the beverage cart that they said would be around to provide beverages was a unicorn. When it did finally appear I tried waving her down and calling but she had ear buds in so she couldn’t hear me yelling for her. How is that possible or is allowed? I mean how is the cart person going to hear customers if she has ear buds in ??
I even called the clubhouse to have the cart person meet us on a call. They said they would send her but we got ghosted. You take away our cooler then there’s nothing on the course in terms of beverages?? Very uncool..
Also the course was in rough shape. Greens were fine but we’re a little hairy. And to top it off we were forced to play the seaside back nine twice. That was totally lame
Overpriced and below average
Paid over $100 to play the back nine of the seaside course twice. Not sure why it's called seaside, every hole is on top of each other and fore calls are common. I highly recommend skipping this club and playing the others in the area. I'd rather play willow springs than play here again even if it were the same price.
Bait and switch
We’ve played this course about 6 times over the last year. Never again. We usually play Newport, but this time we tried bayside. Upon arrival we were told by the starter we’d be playing the back 9 twice. No other warning. The course is ok, but it is quite buggy. Not much water, and zero view of a “sea”. You don’t charge normal prices, and then have people play a 9 hole course twice. There’s better courses with better views and better amenities all over.
