Play course regularly, really like it.
Really like the staff, course is fun and great for me to play. I have played it regularly for the last 6 years and like it Very rural and always guaranteed to see lots of wildlife (Deer, Turkey, etc). Always enjoy playing here.
greens fast and in great shape
lot of wind saturday leaves everywhere but that is par for this time of year
Nice course for the money
We were able to get a great rate on GolfNow and it was my first time playing this course. It was a great value for the money and I would play here again.
Just like my game...needs some work!
The course setting is fantastic, with some distances between green and tee meandering through heavily forested areas. Tee boxes need some TLC both on the surface and the surrounds. Four holes stand out as a bit unforgiving for the average golfer.
Number 7 is a "thread the needle" tee shot requiring a minimum of 230 yards to reach an elevated area that allows you see the green on this 90 degree dogleg...less than that or more than 250 yards on the tee shot leaves you a layup on a par 4. Number 17 requires a 250 yard minimum tee shot to see the drop down green lying next to a lake...fairway slopes dramatically down. From the blues number 18 tee is tiny, in horrid condition and tucked into a small area near the 17th green...another very accurate tee shot of at least 230 yards is needed to clear the lake. Number 11 is a challenging par three requiring an accurate 230 to 250 yard shot to clear a badly maintained water hazard that rises sharply up to the green...if you don't have the distance, either play the white tees or lay up on a par three! The back side has a host of undulating greens and pin placement can make them very challenging. LaGrange needs to work on this course to make it the star public course in Kentucky...it definitely has the potential.
Deer, geese, and ducks are abundant.
NICE COURSE
Liked the challenging holes. a little hilly but some nice hole placements. Will be back
The course is a fantastic course for the money I spent.
The course has a lot undulation with lush rolling hills and valleys. There is a great variety of holes that require many different skill sets. There are long par 3s and really long par 5s that are always challenging to us amateurs. The Pro Shop leaves a lot to be desired given the aesthetics of the front of the building that houses the Pro-Shop. The course has been in petty good condition the last 3-4 times I played the course. The greens are fast, but clean so if you are accurate with the flat stick then you have a chance to score on a lot of the holes. Over all I have enjoyed playing Eagle Creek and I will continue to play it often, as it is right by my house.
Nice layout....
The layout of the course is pretty good. A mix of dog legs, short holes, longer holes, elevation changes, etc. so it will hold your attention. 17 and 18 are a bit too tricked up, however.
The course conditions need some attention. While the greens are in decent shape, the tee boxes, fairways and rough aren't anything special.
All in all, it is a good value. We got Adela through Golf Now for $12 per player. Can't beat that b
Fun and challenging course
Every thing was in good shape. Rough was burning out a little but the bermuda fairways were in great shape. Greens were good, medium speed. If they get much faster they get very difficult. Got to keep the ball out of woods. Most are OB and the rest are unmarked. I think the woods on the interior of the course should be played as hazard. We played the back tees and it was not too long. Though with the pin placements that day, the par 3s played 176, 214, 232, and 215. Par 4 17th hole is very tough. Nice carts.
Worth a look.
Desk staff just cordial. Tee boxes(white), fairways and greens are all in great shape. Green speed is moderate. The thick rough has been tamed by dry weather which reduces your penalty if you find it. Low use in the afternoon made for fast play. Great public course.
I Love Eagle Creek !
Eagle Creek is always a delight to play. It will challenge you but not beat you up too badly. Well, #17 may beat you up a bit but if you score a par on it, you can be proud of yourself. If you have played there you know what I mean. Go play Eagle Creek and you too will become addicted to it.
A few challenging holes, lots of water on back 9.
Moderatley easy par 5's on the front, but lots of water on the back. Several challenging holes, especially from the back tees. Greens in excellent condition. They also can now sell beer, very welcome at the turn.
Call ahead to see if tee sheet is busy..
Good lil track, worth the drive from Louisville. Blue tee
boxes are all very unlevel & will eventually all have to be redone. Tee boxes & fairways were pretty 'furry' as if they had not been mowed recently. Greens are always in above average shape for a public track that receives a good bit play. Played solo because I like to play fast and was stuck behind a twosome who was oblivious until I pleaded with them to let me through. Other than the poor etiquette on their part it was an enjoyable day. Would highly recommend checking tee sheet if playing as twosome or single due to some ppl not liking to let others play through.
excellent condition
Course was in excellent condition. Greens and Faiways
were pristine. Recommend to everyone
Great value.
Our foursome played 18 here and had a great experience. Staff is friendly and helpful. Course is in very good shape. The only thing keeping it from being excellent is the bunkers, but that seems to be the case for many courses at this price level. Quiet, peaceful course that is really an enjoyable place to play.
Cut out of Forrest. Raised greens.
Very wooded with raised greens. Do not be over the green. Hard greens with a lot of roll out.
Fun course
Tee boxes were nice, greens were a little slow, fairways were great for the most part. It wasn't crowded, so the pace of play was pretty quick. Overall, a great time on the course.
Super wet when I played but still in great shape.
Overall this is a great course. I would recommend it to anyone from a low handicap to a beginner. Several really neat holes. I will definitely play again.
Slow, slow, slow!
Course was extremely slow for a tuesday, every water cooler was empty by 1230, also didn't enjoy that the maintenance crew singing loudly and whistling the entire time a played. I will not ever be playing this course again.
fun afternoon
Eagle Creek offers it all. water challenges, ditches, uphill, straight, downhill holes. there is water on the course, and ball washers. Great municipal course.
Tucked alongside a wildlife refuge. Deer on site.
one drawback- no practice range
Harder than it looks
Just got back from Eagle Creek and had a good time. Tee boxes were all in good shape, fairways were very good, greens were good. The rough was a bit tall, but not too thick. The greens played very slow considering it hadn't rained for several days, but they were consistent and were not torn up.
The course is very scenic compared to most in this area and we saw deer on several holes. It is also much more hilly that I expected. The score card and google maps make a lot of the hole look straight on and easy, but the hills complicate many of them. There are multiple blind tee shots, and coming down the hill on 17 is a real leap of faith for your wedges.
I scored about 6 over my average, which isn't too bad on a new course. The course was very busy and we got held up a lot on the back 9. Overall we had fun and would go back, maybe just find a time that isn't so crowded.
