Great Shape
Grew up playing this course. It is currently in the best condition it has been that I can remember. Hope to see it continue.
Very good value for the cost.
The course was in very good condition especially the tee boxes and greens. Will reccomend this course to others and will play again shortly.
Great Course
This is just a fun course to say that's all I can really say. The course was in good condition and the greens were in great shape. The layout interesting as well..
What an improvement
I have played this course off and on for many years. The new owners have had it for several years now and the improvement is incredible. The greens are the best ever and the creeks and lakes are well maintained. Everyone who plays this course seem to know how to maintain a great pace of play. We never take more than 3 hours to play and often play in 2.5 hours. It is a course that you could walk if you desire. The food in the restaurant is very good. The only downside would be a driving range that is not very well taken care of and is not long enough. I will continue to play this course for many years to come.
Great course, well maintained and player friendly.
This is a great rural course. The fairways and greens are in great condition and customer service was prompt and friendly. I had a great time.
Just okay.
Not a bad course and if priced correctly would get higher rating. Regular green fees $30 with cart during the week I'd go elsewhere. But course was in good shape, rough mowed. Greens are small and putt slow, water comes in play on a few holes.
Great practice place
Great course to get some iron practice in. Not long and not extremely difficult. Greens were slow and took some getting use to.
Course in excellent condition
The green rolled very smooth and fast enough to be fair to the player. They were in the process of spike aerating the fairways and they were mowed tight in excellent shape. The rough has been cut to make it easy enough to find an errant shot, but still make it a penalty for being there instead of the fairway. Some may not find this course challenging enough, but I think it is fun to play and they can always move to the back tees. It'll take 4 to 4.5 hours to play 18. Staff at this club is very friendly and among other selections, the Sand Trap makes an excellent burger and fries for after the round.
Course is good condition. Greens are good.
We played at a comfortable pace. The greens were in good shape. The fairways had come in well.
Great value!
A great value and a fun course. Fairways are okay, greens are nice.
Played after a 2inch rain day before.
Course drains well and is a little challenging. Fun course will be back.
Hard to beat for the price
I paid $18 for 18 holes and a cart. At $1 a hole this course is hard to beat. The course is quite easy. Almost every hole is straight as an arrow with fairly wide fairways and little foliage on either side.
Water comes into play on several holes to ramp up difficulty a bit but there were no dog legs and only a couple holes that had any left/right slopes to them at all. Greens are big but were very hard when I played making them like a springboard when hit.
Course was fairly well maintained and I have no complaints. I would play again for $18 or less, but I'd probably find somewhere else if it were in the $20s or $30s as there was just nothing really exciting about this course.
Great Value and a nice course for the weekly golfer.
Not the most challenging or manicured course, but for the money this course is a great place to just go to play. Usually not necessary to have a tee time. Course is not well marked, so you have to be careful not to get lost. Not a lot of frills, so if you like the "wiz bangs" go somewhere else. There is a grill/restaurant on site.
Fairways and greens in rough shape
Its an ok course on the short run or in a hurry. But there are allot of other courses more deserving of play.
Good course for the price
First time here. Definitely has that muni feel, and being the weather turned this week the fairways were browning and the greens were leaf covered, but the greens were still cut nicely and the course layout and undulation make it enjoyable. Very friendly staff.
Good course for the money
The course was very open. Your not going to lose many balls other than in water (there is not alot of wooded areas close to fairways). The greens make the course a little more challenging though because they are smaller than average and more dome shaped (most of them). I personally enjoyed it though because it made the puts more challenging. The course was well maintained.
great value for a challenging course
This course has improved greatly over the past 5 yrs. They have put a lot of work and money into the course. Fairways and bunkers are kept in great shape. The last time I played it they were aerating the rough something you dont ever see.
Not too shabby
This course is essentially the definition of average; which is fine, not every course can be or be expected to be pristine. Nothing stands out as a problem which is good. The par 3s on this corse are some of the more challenging holes I've experienced; the overall difficulty is pretty moderate. Average course with an average price, and that's nothing to be ashamed of.
This is a great course for the money.
We have played this course several times and it is aways well maintained.
Great Course in Good Shape
I have played two rounds at this course. It is a CC so it is well maintained. It is easy to get to and the staff was very courteous. They have electric carts (always a bonus!). The golfnow.com times can be sparse, but I'm sure they give priority to members. No issue there though.
I had my personal best round there (89) due to a +1 back nine. If I had focused a little more, I could have done much better on the front. It is a great course that rewards accurate tee shots. Stay in the fairway and you can score well. Get into the rough and it will be a different story as the primary cut is rather long.
All in all, highly recommended and it is within 30 minutes of Lexington and 40 minutes of Frankfort.
