I was surprise how bad shape the course was in. You would think the university of Kentucky would have it in good attire. It could have just been overplayed but the greens were really bad and un-repaired. We thought about having an outing here …..but not now.
Pest control needed on #15
Course was in good shape, however, #15 had millions of mosquitos so stay away from left side of fairway.
Wildcat
Great golf course for the value. Had a slow group in front of us on the front 9 that wouldn’t let us play through. Other than that, it was a fantastic experience!
Pitch mark obstacle course!
The course was in great condition as always. Would highly recommend both courses at the University Club to anyone. The Wildcat Course has a good layout with many challenges every hole.
The pace of play was slow and no one allowing faster groups to play through. Don’t know if they have rangers around the courses.
The biggest issue was all the un-repaired pitch marks of the greens. I was always taught when growing up learning the game and proper golf etiquette, to repair your pitch mark plus one more. I could have repaired a dozen on every green while my playing partners were putting out. Sad that people don’t know the rules!
Overall good course
Even with a lot of rain this past week the conditions were good, greens and fairways soft and a good overall experience
Open up your golf now hot deals to singles. There are people out there who want to play as singles. As one of them don't have any issue being paired up, actually prefer it so not being single running into groups.
Normally a nice golf experience
I enjoy the golf course generally, but today was not great. Clubhouse service was disinterested, sand traps were hard packed and in some places muddy and the grass mowing crews seemed determined to stay with us for most of the round. A noisy and distracting golf experience at a course that typically is worth a good recommendation.
Neglected Beauty
If you get the choice, play Big Blue. All the money goes into that course leaving Wildcat a disappointment. Late May aeration of the greens leaving dime-size hole (unfilled) mostly. Cart paths scraped like they might be getting ready to pave which would be an improvement. Rough is high making it hard to find your ball slowing play way down. Lots of nice courses in the area so take a pass until they put some money and work into it.
Worth the money
Of course is a very good layout is very challenging but needs work on tee boxes and sand traps.
It was a great course. Only problem is they double booked. I reserved online and the staff took phone in tee times without checking website. They did accommodate us. It is very uncomfortable since we were a foursome of women. (We play fast and waited on group in front of us all day)
