Good bang for your buck
Public course, so it’s a bit more beat up than others.
However, it’s a great value. I often play there by myself to get some practice.
Nice course
Fair ways needed cut other than that a fine course!
You Gotta Go
This course can be very fun but challenging. It helps to have someone with you who has been there before because some of the lines off the tee can be difficult to manage. Love holes that take driver out of your hand and make you think. This course has quite a few that do that. If you fancy yourself a golfer you should play here.
Rough needs to be mowed
Course in good shape
Bermuda fairways not completely grown in
Had a lot of rain week we played so their notations small quick greens a little slower
However I do not think rough had been mowed in weeks
A couple feet from fairway and ball was hard to find
The rough
The rough is really tall and is filled with nothing but clover making it impossible to find a ball off the fairway.
Good Value
I am a golfer who needs to warm up prior to play. Having a golf range would be ideal
First revisit in 55 years - really enjoyable
Course built aeons ago and converted from private to public course now run by Lexington Parks and Rec. Being in the heart of Lexington and next to the upscale Campbell House Hotel was a great location for Big Horse visitors to the area.as well as UK fans. Thus this was first developed as a very nice course as it still is.
Terrain is not as hilly as some, therefore suitable for walkers and we saw quite a few. $12 to walk hard to beat.
Greens slick and most small which is fine. Fairways were somewhat dry but playable. Mature trees all around making some more narrow.corridors for ball flight a good challenge. Well crafted greenside bunkers with personality - more than just holes in the ground with sand. Small brook meanders throughout whole course to add some strategy in shotmaking. Hole markers attractive metal imbeded perhaps in KY limestone.
A mature well designed, affordable course with some interesting holes.
Staff was most friendly and helpful.
Will play again with anticipation.
Super Fun
Picadome is an old school course that is super fun to play. Staff is friendly and very professional. This is one of the few courses you will play that has a unique double green for holes 8 & 10. Nice municipal golf facility.
