Don't play here
This course has really went down hill but the prices didn't. 35$ to play Saturday at 3:30. The fairways were terrible weeds growing out of bunkers and the rough looked like a cow pasture. If you read this review BELIEVE IT!!!! Play somewhere else.
Fairways are horrible
You would think if a course has "country club " in the name it would be in better shape. There is almost no grass in the fairways and the bunkers has dirt and rocks in it. I have played public 9 hole courses in better shape than this. This could be a great course if they do some maintenance. Doesn't look like it has been seeded, water, or treated at all. Weeds everywhere. This course was a waste of my time and money.
fair ways
fairways need work and time
course had a bad winter
Worst shape I've seen at a "private" course
the Tee's and greens were just ok, but the fairways were terrible. most had verry little grass. bunkers were eather full of weeds and hard sand/dirt or very hard sand.
while I was their I saw a sign for a membership drive, no way would I pay 1000 dollars a year. for this course.
Hot deals only
Glen Mary is only worth going if you find a hot deal on GolfNow.. The fairways are in terrible shape, there is no driving range and the roughs look like they haven't been mowed in months.. Course is very poorly maintained.
Another sad story
This course has an interesting layout, but the course and the club house are in terrible condition. They must have killed the fairways with a bad fertilizing job or some dread disease has taken over. There is maybe 15% grass in the fairways! The greens were decent, but some are showing signs of getting sick. There was no - zero! - sand in the traps. Our cart desperately needed maintenance and the very nice clubhouse is in disrepair with rotted wood and peeling paint. Another sad story of a country club looking and acting bankrupt.
Course is Headed Downhill Fast!
Dirt fairways, unkept rough, sandless bunkers, and crumbled cart paths all make this my last appearance at Glenmary.
glenmary
Nice track...rough shape. Fairways need work green were in good shape
Very poor
Very poor conditions. Course should be closed and reseeded.

We had a foursome. We had a great time. We will go back again. Great value
Nice layout, very nice greens, decent condition
Fairways still haven't woke up yet, but otherwise course seems in good shape. I really like the layout, although I wish they'd switch the order back to the original, the new "front" nine is a rough start, and the "back" nine a little too easy. Plus all the prettiest holes are on the new "front", would recommend they switch back. Very nice otherwise. Looking forward to playing it once the fairways come back.
Challenging course.
Challenging course, but the cart paths are in horrible shape.
I hope this gets better!!
picked up a golfnow for Glenmary Country Club. Have played there several times over last 10 years but this was by FAR the worst I've ever seen this course. First off, we got there at 740AM when groups should have already been going off and we couldn't even get in the clubhouse. Carts were out but NOT A SINGLE person in sight. We took a cart and went ahead and went to #1. The fairways were FULL of weeds and most of the rough hadn't been cut in WEEKS if at all this season. When we completed the round I went in to pay and the guy in the clubhouse said that the fairways would be great in about a week. If that happens then we will all start seeing pigs fly right after that. I can't believe that this course has went so far downhill. VERY VERY sad.
Wait for the Bermuda
The Bermuda fairways have not yet greened up. Course Maintenance has not yet caught up after the difficult winter, so some traps were unplayable while others were much improved.
We played white tees, from 6050 yds, so not a real difficult course but I can see where it could be really tough from the black tees.
For the cost it's a great bargain and I will play again.
Terrible
Course was in horrible shape, no grass on fairways at all, rough was about 4 inches tall with weeds everywhere, greens had divots all over. Won't be back unless they put some money into it
Awfl Conditions
Positives of the course
challenging green complexes
challenging routing
Negatives
all fairways were dead, or mud and nearly unplayable
rough 8-12" tall never mowed, again unplayable
bunkers unkempt and full of rocks again unplayable
We wanted to give this course a fair shot, when it has recovered and is maintained properly it will be a decent course
paid for 18, left at the turn, disappointed overall
hopefully the course receives the care it deserves
Solid course for the money
This round was early in the year so the fairways were not grown in yet and the course was cart path only because of the rain in the previous days. The greens were in great shape and had a fair amount of movement in them. It is a tight driving course so if you can't hit the ball somewhat straight expect to take some penalty strokes and hit some houses. My only criticism would be that the cart paths are in horrible shape and need to be replaced!
Going downhill
This course has been one of my favorites for a few years but after playing there today, I'm not sure i'll be back.
Where to start... no carts were available after signing in and paying up. The clubhouse was closed and all transactions went through the bar. I had to go back in to ask for them to bring some carts around. This took around ten minutes and when a cart was finally brought out, I was told if I wanted a scorecard that I would have to walk back inside to grab one. Luckily I got the last card available at the bar.
The course looked and played like it had not been watered all year. The fairways were hard and bald. The greens were like rocks. I didn't have to repair a ball mark all day. The cart paths are barely drivable and in desperate need of repaving. The majority of the green side bunkers had not been tended to and were more like playing from a dried up river bank.
I'm not sure what is going on with this course but it has been seriously neglected. Pay a few more dollars and go somewhere else. You will enjoy your day a lot more.
A charming and challenging course
Booked an early morning tee time, one of 2 groups out. Never saw the second group, pace of play was exceptional. Took only 1 1/2 hrs to play front 9. Course is a little on the short side from the middle white tees but challenging. Winter weather has been harsh on Louisville courses, the fairways haven't greened up yet but the greens were exceptional for the time of year. Beautiful scenery on most holes. Very impressed playing there for the first time, will definitely go back.
