Rum Pointe Golf Course
About
Situated just a few miles south of Ocean City, Rum Pointe Seaside Golf Links has a scenic location on the Sinexpuxent Bay that overlooks Assateague National Seashore Park. Pete Dye and his son P.B. designed the course. The renowned father/son team created a Scottish links-style course with no less than 17 holes that have a view of the bay and plenty of risk-reward opportunities. More daring players may try to shorten the distance on a few holes by starting their ball over water. There are five diverse sets of tees allowing it to be challenging enough to be a PGA Tour stop from the back tees, but there are also middle tees that are forgiving enough for beginners to approach with confidence. The golf course is the only one in the area that features bentgrass on the fairways and greens.

Great First Visit But . . .
Great layout and scenery and the course was in great shape. We saw bald eagle on the first hole. After our threesome played the front nine in 100 minutes it took us 2.5 hours to play the back 9. A mixed foursome with 3 carts took 2.5 hours to play the back 9 without ever waiting for a shot. They refused to let faster groups play through. It would have been worse except the staffer who cleans clubs at the 18th green sensed something was wrong when no one had come up the 18th hole for a very long time. He drove out to nudge the slow group to play faster. It didn't seem to help much but we appreciated the effort. The bar was closing as we finished. Did not get to check that out. I can't imagine too many people linger at the 19th hole after they have played a 5 hour round.
Great bay views
Nice layout with great views of the bay. Staff was very friendly. Nice facilities at the clubhouse.
Fairways are well maintained and the greens were in great shape.
A work of art.
This is a great course to play and be on, for both the golf, the views, and the wildlife. Make sure you do not forget to adjust for the wind, being on the coast you get a solid breeze which can be different on every hole. Enjoy, we do every time.
Best at the beach
Rum Pointe, in my view, is the best course in the Delmarva area. I've played all the marquee courses down here, and always come back to Rum Pointe. Views, course conditions, value....it has it all. It can play completely different from day to day according to ever present wind conditions. Spectacular views and it asks you to consider taking risks in order to score. Just a fun fair test of golf..been going there for years and will continue to.
Never dissapoints!
Probably my favorite course for the money in OC. Course played excellently, even though heavy rains for the 2 days prior. Fairways dry, greens in great shape. Starter was very informative, and pro shop and servers very friendly. Make it a point to play here every time I come to OC. The only problem we had was biting flies blowing in from Assateague. Front nine was bite free, then wind shifted in the evening, to out of the East and these things got serious. Regular Off was not a deterrent.
Won't keep us from going back, though.
Great Course
I think Rum Point is the best course for the price in Ocean City Md
Working the Wind
Course absolutely beautiful and in perfect shape. Scenic views along the water but wind very much a factor during the round. Will be back to challenge again.
Great shape
Course was in excellent condition. Greens were quick, grass was cut. Sun was shining. Course in both challenging, and enjoyable
Great Golf Course with Great Views
My grandfather and I played this weekend at Rums Pointe. The course was in perfect condition even after a little rain the night before. The views were amazing, the price was very reasonable. My grandfather and I will sure to be back to play soon!
Great Condition But
This course was in great condition. Only issue we had was that since it was cart path only from the rain the night before, there are no yardage markings on the fairways. There is GPS on the carts but that did not help us when we walked over to our balls. They should mark the yardage on the sprinkler heads to help when cart path only! That pretty much kept it from being a perfect day.
Rum point
I have played at Rum Point mabe 6 or 7 times. The staff there is always friendly and very accommodating.
Fun and challenging
Very nice place, good design and well maintained. For me played short, so halfway through my round I moved back a set of tees. To score well here, it would be quite helpful to be able to shape your shots.
Definitely a Must Play in the Ocean City Area
Beautiful links style course in pristine condition. As a senior scored well from the whites. Wife scored well from the reds with no long carries. Course is friendly to all level players. Very generous and fast greens on most holes with fair pin placements. Typical Dye risk-reward situations on approach. Very friendly and accommodating staff paired us with another couple. Beautiful views, nice warm-up range. Absolutely a must play Maryland course.
Great Day with brother-in-law
Well maintained gem with several holes along the water. Beautiful fairways, nice greens, lush rough. Minimal but sufficient facilities but the Taylor-Made rental set was still wrapped in plastic!
Golf Traveler
Played this course with a dear friend. We had a terrific round where we enjoyed the views of the ocean and the natural setting of the coastal countryside.
The friendly staff made us feel welcomed. As we pulled up to play, someone from the pro shop came out to meet us with my receipt (Pre paid) and handed it to me to help us get to the tee quickly. The starter had some great suggestions and indicated that as it had recently rained, urged us to putt a few to get a feel for the speed of greens.
My friend and I had a great round, and we'll be back to play Rum Pointe again the next time we are in the area.
Tom, from Long Island
Windy but incredible
Certainly was windy as it has been all week, by far the best course played. Links style with good size fairways but don't let the lush rough fool you. Grabbing Bermuda makes a shot challenging. The greens were consistent and true. Great course for all level of players I would imagine. Can't beat gollfnow pricing. Awesome value for money
Great course...amazing views...must play!!
This course was on really good condition with nice fairways and great greens. The layout along the bay was incredible with amazing views and ponds throughout the course. The staff was good and food was okay. A lot of great holes along the water. We would definitely play this course again. Must play!!!
Most enjoyable course in OC.
Good condition for the season.Never disappointed to play again when in town.
Great Value During Off Seaspn
I was lucky to have played in December and have 68 degree weather and full sun with no wind!
The course as always was in great condition for this time of year. The greens were very slow but that was to be expected because of the unusually warm weather. this has caused the greens to grow and become slow and bumpy. The carts all come with a cover to get you out of the wind and bad weather. The bar supplies a cooler with beer for you round of golf and the prices are great.
Ranked one of marylands top 15 hate to see number 20. Played on 1/4/16. Greens nobody fixes a single ball mark or rakes the bunkers even though rakes are there. I think biggest problem is thier sending groups out every 7 min. Last three time there never got off on time this last time was it for me started at 12:58 finished @6:40. Large problem is thier part of these packages deals and I think 1/2 of those people could care less about the etiquette of golf and there tearing up golf courses that used to be real nice. Rum pointe is awful rite now and officially off my list. They need marshals to tell people to pick up when there's more than one open hole ahead of them. The group that started in f not of us it took two of thier threesome 7 shots to reach the fairway we knew rite away this was going to be awful and no ranger ever all day. For $109 I'll go to baywood all day where they keep to thier 4:20 round times by mac king people pickup and move to next hole or leave. The young lady in bar are was very nice as we had lunch before we started too bad she will never see us again.
