Rum Pointe Golf Course
About
Situated just a few miles south of Ocean City, Rum Pointe Seaside Golf Links has a scenic location on the Sinexpuxent Bay that overlooks Assateague National Seashore Park. Pete Dye and his son P.B. designed the course. The renowned father/son team created a Scottish links-style course with no less than 17 holes that have a view of the bay and plenty of risk-reward opportunities. More daring players may try to shorten the distance on a few holes by starting their ball over water. There are five diverse sets of tees allowing it to be challenging enough to be a PGA Tour stop from the back tees, but there are also middle tees that are forgiving enough for beginners to approach with confidence. The golf course is the only one in the area that features bentgrass on the fairways and greens.

Great Course
I have a condo in Ocean City and play a lot of the courses in the area. Rum Pointe is one of my favorites. Great views! Challenging layout with a great combination of links and woods holes.
Very enjoyable course and in good condition for 11/29/13
The course is well maintained and was in great condition the last time played , 11/29/13. A nice benefit was the Cart Covers that helped with the cold and wind.
Challenging, but fair, course is in great condition. Fairways are perfect and greens are also
Beautiful layout and course conditions. Friendly staff and great ammenities. Fairways and greens are awesome.
Beautiful course!
Great course at a great price. Had some very challenging holes. I would play here again, but I want to try the other courses that are in the group with Rum Pointe.
Fantastic course condition
Everything in great condition, even the tee boxes were better than some of the greens on other courses. Greens were immaculate and gave a predictable roll. Fairways well maintained with defined primary and secondary rough. All together this was a extremely enjoyable outing.
Great Course
It was 40 degrees with 25 MPH winds but we had a great time. Beats working. The course was in great shape and empty due to the weather. We were a twosome and played in under 3 hours. It was cold but we enjoyed our round. We'd definitely go back. It's another Ruark Golf managed course. They do a great job and their staff are always friendly.
Don't miss this course if you get a chance to play it!
This is one of the most scenic, well maintained golf courses I've played on the Eastern Shore this year. Immenently playable yet treacherous enough to get into big trouble. A fair test of golf for all skill levels. I will play here much more often next season.
The course was in great shape
I loved the course, greens were fast and fairways were plush. Probably the best course I've played in Ocean City. The discount on golf now were the icing on the cake.
Beauty of a Golf Course!
Rum Pointe acquires the distinction of being one of the top 3-4 courses on the Eastern Shore and it's obvious why. Course was in immaculate condition. Greens were great and a few had some interesting undulation to them. You can't beat the view on the closing 4 holes. Play was really slow (woefully) and our 4 hr 50 min round left us playing no. 18 in the dark. Great course though and totally recommend...
The Views Alone are Worth It!
Spectacular course beside the bay, views in every direction. Fairways are beyond generous, greens are in very good shape. Played with two locals who had some game and seemed to inspire mine. Shot a new low score here, very happy with that.
Too bad it didn't rub off on the groups in front. This is one of the big stops on the package deal circuit, don't be surprised to find yourself behind groups of well lubricated hackers. They played the blues and got most of them past the reds, albeit well to the right or left. Lots of time spent tramping about the edge of the wetlands to no avail. We finished in the dark, but got all 18 in.
Saw a Bald Eagle flying low over the trees then perched nearby for a photo op, also one of the local mini-deer sniffing cautiously about the tee box. Quite a few Heron about too.
This one's a gem, can't wait to go back!
The course is well maintained and the setting is beautiful
The course is in great shape especialy for being so late in the season
Course aesthetics are exceptional.
Course in pristine condition and course aesthetics are exceptional. Dale was the starter and he was quite friendly and helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed the round and world recommend without hesitation.
Great views, golf, friendly staff
My friend and I made a same-day reservation on golfnow.com and played on a nice sunny October afternoon. We were warmly greeted by a friendly, helpful staff and escorted out to the first hole after checking in. The course is in fabulous shape, the views are beautiful (it's right on the bay) and the holes are plenty challenging but not unplayable. Greens can be a bit tricky to read but they're in good shape and we had a great round. A "must" if you're in Ocean City.
windy conditions but beautiful course
this is one of the most beautiful courses around Ocean City, a true walk in nature's best surroundings. The holes along the bay are particularly stunning. The wind blew at a constant 15 to 20 mph, making for some tough shots off the tee as well as the approach shots. We had a 2:00 tee time, so there was no one behind us and no one in front. We did however come up on TWO groups thatwere ahead, and as a result, spent some time sitting on the tees of the back nine, waiting. Highly recommend, try to find a time that the wind is not howling and you will enjoy the heck out of your round.
Still a winner
Played here probably over a dozen times over the years and the course is almost always in VG to excellent shape and very eye pleasing and fun to play even for the so so golfer. Rates do get rather steep but if you can avoid peak times its quite fair and definitely worth a try-my favorite in the area and I've played them all. Value in this case was great as I booked a hot deal time- over 50% off mid week rate...
Worth a 370 mile drive.
Felt like I robbed someone after playing this course on a hot deal. I was paired with another solo golfer. It was truly one of the best golf experiences I've ever had. Aside from slow play from a foursome in front of us( we ran into on the 8th ), the layout was phenomenal. The first course I've ever had the privelage to play where you could tell there was absolutely no cost cutting in constructing this beautiful course. The rough was consistent, the bent grass greens and fairways were flawless. Keep in mind I played in September. Play this course and get ready for a great experience. The wind is easy to compensate for by the way.
The views could not be better.
The course was well maintained, the staff friendly. Pace of play was good. The course overlooks Assateague Island and the bay. The layout and the wind can make it challenging. Will definitely go back.
On the water golf!!
This was my first time at Rum Point and the previous reviews didn't disappoint. Easily the most beautiful course Ive ever played. Got a great "Hot Deal" on Golf Now which made the value awesome. Great links style course with awesome maintenance tee to green. Even though the green were aerated recently, it was hard to tell on most holes. The scenery alone is worth the round but the course itself makes this place a gem and a must play if your in the area. Staff was awesome, my bag was loaded from my trunk to a cart, pulled up to the practice green and the pro shop had my reservation on the desk when I walked in. Starter gave a great course description and informed this first timer of everything I needed to know to get around the course. Overall, the best experience I've had at a course hands down.
Great day!
My son and I both said the same thing coming down 18... That we would definitely come back. Pretty course that's well cared for and doesn't beat you up. Every staff member was very friendly and professional, which is what every course should offer. Pricey at 95 bucks but we got what we paid for
Great course for the money!
This is a challenging course that is in very good condition. The layout shows a lot of variety and demands your attention on each shot. The staff was very friendly. Pace of play was excellent for four golfers!
Had a great time here, slow play, dark finish and all. Enjoyed Ocean Resorts but played horribly. Got Hog Neck on Friday, hope to do better.
