Rum Pointe Golf Course
About
Situated just a few miles south of Ocean City, Rum Pointe Seaside Golf Links has a scenic location on the Sinexpuxent Bay that overlooks Assateague National Seashore Park. Pete Dye and his son P.B. designed the course. The renowned father/son team created a Scottish links-style course with no less than 17 holes that have a view of the bay and plenty of risk-reward opportunities. More daring players may try to shorten the distance on a few holes by starting their ball over water. There are five diverse sets of tees allowing it to be challenging enough to be a PGA Tour stop from the back tees, but there are also middle tees that are forgiving enough for beginners to approach with confidence. The golf course is the only one in the area that features bentgrass on the fairways and greens.

My favorite course in del/md
I play at least 1 to 2 times a week all year long. Rum pointe is at the very top of my list. You won't be disappointed
Great views of the inlet. We play this coarse every year.
Heavy rains fell for 20 minutes and in no time the coarse drained very quickly. Staff was great to talk too; especially if your an Eagles fan.
Great Time at Rum Point
Despite the amount of rain this area took in June 2013, this course is in great shape. Tees and fairways are tight, with the greens receptive and smooth (watch for the grain!)
My group had to contend with a 2-club wind but we found the course in great condition and the staff very cordial - and we thoroughly enjoyed the round.
Starter Dan should be commended for his upbeat personality and overall pride in this facility and barkeep Angie was also a delight. Congrats to Rum Point for a grade A experience.
great pace of play, very well-conditioned course.
Played on a weekend afternoon, and the course wasn't very crowded at all. I really enjoy those 3.5 to 4 hours (which are becoming such a rarity on public courses these days).
The course conditions were very nice, and clearly they put a lot of time and money into the maintenance. There are free range balls, which is a nice add-on. The course is close to the water, which makes for windy conditions, and good scenery. Not sure if it's always as windy as it was on 6/30, but that definitely made the course more challenging. You can really bomb some drives downwind, but it was tough to stop them on the greens.
Overall, I'd recommend this course to friends. I wish it were a little cheaper, but I'm told that some of the other courses around this area are even more expensive than Rum Pointe. Maybe that's just the way it is in this "resort" area.
Beautiful scenic golf holes
A beautiful course with an excellent staff. Your whole round of golf will be enjoyable. The holes are very scenic and the course is always perfectly maintained.
Course was in excellent shape. Greens were outstanding
The course was in excellent shape from front to back. Attention to details had been paid to tee boxes, traps, fairways, and greens. Beautiful scenery surrounding the course made the "slower" round seem to fly by. GPS in the carts were a bonus. A must play!!
Great tract to play
When the wind blows in off the bay, this courses exposed holes are super tough, it is a nice tract to play under any condition,
it is maintained nicely and getting a golf now price makes it a excellent value, when in oc, it is a must play.
Nice course
I try to play here when vacationing in Ocean City. The views are nice and the course is fair--not overly tough and fine for my mid-teens handicap. In early April this time, the greens were bumpy from recent maintenance (could have been rolled maybe) and some grasses were still not in season--should be fine by May. Full rates are a little high for this time of the year, but the discounts available from Golfnow make nit much more reasonable.
Great Layout on the Bay
The course has a good layout of risk/reward shots. On windy days this would be a real beast depending on direction. They have a good variety of tees for all skill levels to choose from.
The day we played they had aerated the greens a few days earlier so there were some bumpy putts that kicked off-line. Understandable for the off-season but this was not designated on the Golf Now descriptor like other courses. This would've been good to know before booking because this is one of the more costly courses.
Beautiful water views on many holes. Well maintained.
Rum Pointe is my favorite course in the Ocean City, MD area. It is a links style course, created by the Dyes, and can be easy and hard at the same time. Depends on how the wind is blowing, since it is near the bay and ocean. It does not get too severe winter weather, so it stays playable in January and February. Likewise, in the hot summer months, it is much more comfortable than inland courses, thanks to the breezes from the water.
Bad weather
The golf course was in good shape. I love playing any Dye course and this gem didn't disappoint. Wonderful course and would definitely play it again
One of the nicest courses I've played
Rum Pointe is probably the most well maintained course on the Eastern Shore. An the off-season pricing is great, if you can survive the cold air blowing off of the water. Scenic, well-maintained, and afforable: what a great course!!!!
Awesome!
I've been playing golf for about a year now and I've played courses like cape fear national, the preserve at Jordan lake, renditions and university of Maryland and this course was more pristine than any of those named previously, it's a link style and by the water so naturally it was flat but if I could have this course with the hilly terrain I like on most courses it would be the best I have ever played....next week the peninsula in Delaware ...
Course was great!
It was in excellent shape and price was great. Would gladly go back and play it again.
Rum Pointe is a great course!
We love Rum Pointe. With GolfNow or golf coupon books, Rum Pointe can be affordable! Pace of play this particular day was a little slow due to the group in front of us talking on their cell phones all day. Really needed a ranger on the course. But usually pace of play is ok.
Food in Club House is not that good. Needs improvement.
this is a top notch course
We love to play this course every time we go to the beach.
Incredible viws, fast greens, great shape.
Incredible bay views, open enough even I can stay in play.
A must play!!!
A beautiful course, challenging with great scenery. Golf Now made it affordable for my family of four. Links style and the constant breeze made it seem a bit cooler and does affect your shots. It was so scenic that even a bad shot could be easily dismissed. Pro Shop staff was OK, but did not seem to happy that we went through Golf Now, while course staff was great. An observation, with everything top notch, expected more from the bathroom facilities. Probably equal to Lighthouse Sound, but more affordable.
OH THE VIEWS
GREAT COURSE! The views of the bay on this links style course are awesome. They were very creative in everything they did including an awesome driving range and putting green. Even they tee box markers were interesting. The Par 3's and par 5's are memorable. Be careful of club selecton as the wind is blowing! While I loved it, not as good as Baywood Greens to the north.
