Ocean City Golf Club - Newport Bay
About
Ocean City Golf Club boasts 36 holes of championship golf. The Seaside Course opened in 1959 and it was later joined by the Newport Bay Course. Both offer scenic views of the surrounding marshes and bay. Newport Bay is a formidable challenge but it will test your ability to think strategically, not your distance. Strategically placed bunkers come into play and the subtle contours of the landscape were utilized to their full extent. The course is a formidable test but it is player friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. The golf course also touts some of the most scenic views on the Mid-Atlantic coast, although the surroundings are more Carolinian in feel. Both of Ocean City's courses offer something different. Seaside has a more traditional design but both offer plenty of variety.

Course was great but with no gps in carts or layouts of the holes available on the scorecards it leaves you guessing on a number of holes.
Exceptional
The course was in exceptional shape and the staff was professional and courtesy also the new improvement to the clubhouse was surprise.
Local gem
This is one of my favorite courses at the beach.
I rate everything very high because it is terrific, regrettably I had a bad experience with a guy that checked us in at the cards. Rude to the point of nearly offensive.
Certainly got the norm the rest of the guys there are terrific
Great value. Beautiful views.
Enjoyed my round. Some really nice holes. Fairly open, but a lot of dog legs. Greens were in great condition, as we’re tee boxes, fairways and bunkers. Nice warm up area. Range close to club house. Didn’t eat there but looked like pub style. Pro shop well stocked. Pace of play slowed considerably on back nine, but we finished in 4 hours. Nice parkland style course with great views. Place my occasional golfer friends would enjoy, but from back tees, it will challenge single digit hc. 18 is a birdie opportunity but the par 3 17th is a good one. Will be back
Awesome
Very nice course. Great views, challenging holes. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Definitely will play here again!! Pace was very good.
Newport bay
Big bag drop area when you arrive, I had never played here before and the staff was happy to lead me in the right direction to the clubhouse. As a single golfer I was paired up with another 2 some. Newport bay that day was cart path only that day ,which I did not like, but not the worst. The course was in good shape, the greens were perfect. Pace of play was a little slow, but that happens when you and other players aren’t sure where they are going.. in all I had a great time at the course that day.
First time here
Was expecting more, pictures on website look amazing. Course is old and could use some changes. I agree there are some nice views of wetlands, but the course needs some renovations.
I played alone, and there was few twosomes in front of me, and older foursome holding us all up, hitting 50-100 yards if lucky. Now I’m all for everyone enjoying there round and having fun, but after 7-8 holes of waiting 10-15 mins to hit a shot. I understand some singles or twosomes should also join up, but nobody wanted to, so what are you to do, but wait. Could call and ask for ranger, but there wasn’t one, just the starter. Gave up after 8 holes.. Didn’t even see the back nine, which is probably better or the two nines. Other course looked in worse shape the Newport Bay, and looked like very small greens. Staff was nice, just wasn’t impressed with shape or pace. Golfers please let fast pace players or singles /doubles play through, it’s called golf edict, like driving on the highway, slower traffic stay in right lane..
Okay but……
On Newport Bay we had to play the front twice -because the 3 some in front of us were so obnoxiously slow.
The cart gentleman was just an awesome individual- offered to let us play the back that we had skipped.
At any rate - it was a good day to be out there - that’s what you get at the beach.

This was my third time playing this course and it was in excellent condition! Newport Bay is one of my favorite courses in all of OC. The greens rolled very true and had good pace to them. Being Memorial Day weekend the pace of play was very slow, but that's to be expected. Can't wait to come back!!
