Ocean City Golf Club - Newport Bay
About
Ocean City Golf Club boasts 36 holes of championship golf. The Seaside Course opened in 1959 and it was later joined by the Newport Bay Course. Both offer scenic views of the surrounding marshes and bay. Newport Bay is a formidable challenge but it will test your ability to think strategically, not your distance. Strategically placed bunkers come into play and the subtle contours of the landscape were utilized to their full extent. The course is a formidable test but it is player friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. The golf course also touts some of the most scenic views on the Mid-Atlantic coast, although the surroundings are more Carolinian in feel. Both of Ocean City's courses offer something different. Seaside has a more traditional design but both offer plenty of variety.

Overpriced and over rated
The course website boast this course as one of the most beautiful courses in OC. So I had a high expectation playing this course for the first time as one of the venues for my golf trip with my buddies. I was very disappointed. There are few holes by the waters that are pretty. But this course is no where near what it claims to be. The fairways had patches of crab grass growing everywhere and the overall condition of the fairway was not that much different from county courses in NJ. It is not a terrible course but I would not pay more than $50 for this course in the morning. I paid $65. Considering that Rum Pointe was $65 for the afternoon tee time, I'd play that course over this one every time. In short, the course is overpriced for the overall condition of the course and its layout. Not a bad course, but nothing impressive to warrant its rate. (I would have played its sister course - Seaside- had I really enjoyed and was impressed by this course.)
Challenging layout
Nice course
Greens need time to grow out but overall course is in good condition
Loved all the water and dogleg holes
Nice course
Fun layout, great staff, nice chipping and putting areas. Would definitely go back, but might try their seaside course next time.
This course is usually a great course
This course is usually a great course But this time it looked like it was in bad shape most of the greens were aerated play was very slow it look like a beat up course not been taken care of as it has been in the past maybe it’s a Covid pandemic problem I don’t know but those was very disappointed

Course in great shape played year ago course was in poor shape amazing improvement! Well deigned fun to play
Very scenic course
Great course. Disappointed in the cart path only rule for the day.. Staff said reason was they had just over-seeded. Would not allow an exception for my 83 year old handicapped father.
great day of golf
Newport Bay is always on my list to play. Never disappoints. Great condition and always a challenge I appreciate.
Course was very slow pace of play but first week of November an d in the 70's brought everyone out to play. Four and a half hours but excellent golf
Beautiful course!! NO EMPLOYEES WEAR MASKS!!
Another awesome course in Berlin MD!! Loved it. Is challenging in places but the fairways are pretty wide and not much tall grass at all. Amazing views. BUT absolutely no employees AT ALL (inside even!) Wearing masks. Unacceptable. The pro shop guy I believe did have one maybe but neither of the two bartenders did and starters and Two beverage cart people Did not.
Great Potential
Great layout with very scenic views on a few holes. This could be a top course with some attention to detail and investment. The driving range is horrible and needs new mats. The fairways were over watered and very soggy. This was supposedly the result of recent over seeding but there is no need to drown grass seed and make many areas of your fairways unplayable. Greens were receptive, smooth and a little slow.
