Great for the Buck!
First hole daunting! challenging! but as we went it still remained challenging and beautiful!
The greens spotting but still manageable We Loved the people who worked there and they have all the amenities you need!!
Not what was expected
After reading the other reviews and playing other area courses such as Gibson bay and houston oaks, I thought this would be of similar caliber. This course is very hilly, and wasn't in the best o conditions. Golf ow gave me a great price but I would have been disappointed had I payed full price.
Fun course to play.
This is a fun course to play. Great staff! Great bar and grill!
Good Track Fun Holes
I like this course it has every thing you would want water, blind shots, and good par threes.
Duckers is for the Bold
It has taken me several rounds at Duckers to get a true appreciation of its beauty and challenge. While I have a high handicap, I stil love the layout of this course. Great practice tees. Great 19th hole. The course is well maintanied this year and the greens roll true. It is not a course where you feel pushed along by hordes of other golfers.
It is winter golf !!
I played on Feb 24th with my son. Sunny but brisk day. Course in playable condition but it is still winter golf. Golfnow rate made it a good buy for this time of year. I could see that some course improvements were being made. New trees planted. Cart paths had seen some paving repairs. Course just needs some warm weather to provide new growth in fairways and greens.
My local go to course.
good wintertime golf
staff very friendly and accomodating. course in good shape for jan. lots of placement shots.. great value on golfnow
Fun to play for a change
This course has a combination of coventional holes with striaght fairways and simple doglegs, mixed with some odd challenging holes with squeeze points guarded by rough/woods, streams and ponds. Slopes come into play in most holes. One word of advice - bring hand sanitizer. Seriously. This is not a joke. Some of the holes have a serious Canada Goose problem. When I played (Dec 2012), the 16th green was literally unplayable. If the goose problem was resolved, I would have given the course 4 stars instead of 3.
Pretty good for the money.
The manager was incredibly nice. He even had an extension pole and would spend time pulling balls out of the (multiple) water hazards and leaving them for anyone who wanted them.
I do have to say that I'm not a fan of the first 9 though. It it seems like they started a planned community and halfway though decide to try and cram a golf course in. There's a lot of shots around houses or very sharp doglegs because they ran out of space. The back 9 is much different however, with lots more space and entertaining holes.
All in all, for ~$14 deal I got through golfnow.com I would say this course is well worth it.
Relaxing and challenging.
This course is definitely challenging. From the elevated greens and dog legs to the various water hazzards, I'd recommend this course to anyone looking to work on their strategic approach.
this course is a great value & is challenging
The staff was great & the pro shop & lounge were a pleasent surprise since I last played here 5 years ago. The course was challenging & in very good shape for this time of year. The pace of play during my round was semi slow due to a 4some that kind of had everyone backed up but that was only on the front nine. Overall the best value in golf for me this year. I plan to play it again as soon as posssible with friends.
Different, challenging holes
One of my favorite golf courses due to course condition, value for your money, different & challenging golf holes compared to simple layouts.
