River Run Golf Course

The overall condition of River Run was very good. I was very impressed .The opening of the 13th hole made it very pleasing to the eye. Fairways and greens were well maintained.

Great course for both skilled players and high handicappers. Nice place to see and play.

Too bad if they are taking the range away to satisfy the greedy developers! Hopefully it’s not true.

Had an enjoyable round, fun course to play. The course is in good condition for this time of year. Staff is friendly.

This course is still coming out of winter and very rainy weather. Cart path only and understandable why. Traps had water.
Did like the layout and would play again come summer to see how it is in full season.

I have played here several times, it has always been in good shape. The day was windy and overcast, but the course was well maintained. Greens a little slow but rolled well and I noticed that there were very few ball marks(don’t know if that’s because people are actually repairing them or course is doing it). Only a few holes path only and they were well marked so there were no questions on wether path only or not. All in all course was enjoyable and as an added bonus 1 of the guys I was playing with had a hole in one. Pace was quick, mainly because of very few people on course. Would play here again and recommend it to my playing partners.

Over the years we’ve played River Run and enjoyed it. This year it was in deplorable conditions. Most of the greens had large areas of fungus. The fairways had a lot of bare spots and the rough in manicured. Since they are building new homes on the property, the driving range has been reduced to hitting plastic balls which travel about 70 yards for every club. Next year there will only be driving cages and no range. With the building growth in the area, it’s doubtful the course will survive anticipated expanded development. If it does, it will need a lot of maintenance. I don’t like to write critical reviews but the course was so disappointing and I was glad we didn’t pay more. They were receiving new carts so maybe a turnaround is in their future. They have enhanced their dining area.

I got paired with a longtime resident and two guys who were in from another golf community for the first time on the course as well. The resident was an exceptional ambassador for the course. I was grateful for this foursome.

Unfortunately a group of three two groups ahead of us played as slow as a group of six. At one hole on the back, we scurried past them, skipping the hole entirely - unfortunate, but otherwise we would have been on the course more than five hours.

Was a great course with friendly staff and in good shape. Pace of play was a bit slow because we had a twosome who thought it was their right to hit multiple balls on every hole. Other than that, was a great experience. Finally a golf course with beverage carts that you see more than once or twice in 18 holes .

This course was very nice staff was friendly and the grounds crew was hard at work taking care of the course.

The greens were recently punched (maybe a week or 2 ago) and sanded. They rolled ok, but were pretty slow.
My only issue with the course is that there are no hole descriptions on the score card or hole plaques. On hole 7 or 8 there is a large pond that is not visible from the tee that can swallow a drive. A few holes have houses close, but it did not bother me. The par 3s seem to be a the visual highlights of. The course as most are over water. I enjoyed the layout.
