There are two 18-hole championship golf courses available at the Bay Club in Berlin, which is conveniently situated just a few miles outside of Ocean City. Both the East and West Courses are routed through mature woodlands and incorporate 426 acres of lakes and wetlands, both man-made and natural. The East Course was the second course at the club, added in 1999. Measuring just over 7,000 yards, it is the longer of the two golf courses but only by about 50 yards. While the original West Course may be famous for its signature island green hole, dubbed "Devil's Island," the East also boasts an island green. The "Paradise Island" green may not be as dramatic but it is certainly still a challenge. The golf course is also known for being one of the only courses in the area to feature tour-quality Zoysia grass fairways.

FUN
The east course is great for high handicap golfers. Not a lot of hazards wide open fairways and the fairway grass is like turf setting ur ball up making it easy to hit . Keep in mind that what the course lacks in hazards it make up for in distance a lot of the holes are long.only negative is that the driving range faces due east ....so if u play in the morning and u want to hit balls before you play...you can't see anything ..also the fist hole goes right into the sun .
East course is a very interesting and fun course to play
Our first time to the Bay Club was a huge success. Playing on the zoysia fairways was really fun as the ball always sits up for solid strikes with any club and the greens were very true to putt. This layout is challenging but not tricked up. All of the staff was very friendly and welcoming. After the round the 19th hole was also fun and relaxing with many food and drink selections. Can't wait to come back to play the West course!
Early afternoon starting time on a Friday. The course was not crowded and as a twosome, we moved at our own pace. Staff was professional and we saw the beverage cart 3 times.
Fairways were in good condition and I never had a bad lie. Rough was spotty with some bare spots and weeks. Greens were smooth but slow. Traps had consistent sand base and were raked smooth. Practice range had excellent turf.
Bottom line, good value for what I paid.
Bay Club East
Great course layout, very friendly staff. Played 18 holes in 3:45 time for great pace on hot day.
Fake Grass
Thinking about a nice round down in OCMD? Good views and nice layout? Bay club is NOT it. Nothing special at all with artificial grass for fairways that would grab at the club face. I was not a fan as I was expecting after a 4 star rating. Course barely is sniffing 2 stars
Very nice course
Had a great round with my 29 year old son, both enjoyed the course very much. Played as as 2 some and finished in under 3 1/2 hours. Course is open and forgiving but has length from the blue tees. Will he back
East Course Fan
Enjoyed the round. Especially the zoysia fairways. Never dissapointes.
Bay Club
Played on warm day in winter, so under the circumstances was all good. Only criticism is that I played with my wife and in winter have all tees moved up and same tees for men and women.
Bay Club West real gem
This was my 1st time playing Bay Club West and it was awesome. A very challenging, tree-lined layout with fast greens. Have your "A" short game. tremendous value in the OC area. Can't wait to play it again.
High Value For The $$
Great layout, friendly staff, great value for the money
Very Nice Course
Played the East course today. Got a great deal through Golf Now. Tees and fairways are in great shape. Greens are almost ridiculously slow. Took 2-3 holes to get used to the speed of the greens. Once I did, they were great.
Many of the holes are the same. Relatively short (from white tees) but tight and the trees are unforgiving. There are trees in play on almost every hole.
Staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating. I will definitely recommend this course and come back.
Aeration
Was told by starting that they aerated and to look at hole number 9 and see how good the rest of course would be. 9th green was in good shape considering aeration but the rest of the greens were terrible. They were unplayable. They were sanding greens ahead of us and it was like putting in the bunker. They should have closed course. I would never recommend this course to anyone.
Bay Club Berlin
I really like this course , especially the East course. Played as a twosome late afternoon and only problem was we had to go through about 4 groups who were playing rather slowly. No ranger was ever seen. West course is nice layout but not in as good of shape as the East.
Enjoyable Experience
My wife and I played nine holes in the evening on the 20th and came right back and played 9 holes in the evening on the 21st. We really enjoyed ourselves both times. Course is fun to play. We played the West course front nine one evening and the West back nine the next evening. We enjoyed the course design, the friendliness of the staff, the back to nature experience (the course is not in a housing development), encountering several forms of wildlife. Also the course is near the town of Berlin which is a great place to visit and has several good places to eat. We definitely are planning to return soon and often.
Nice layout, nice course conditions.
A VERY hot day, so not many players. This mad to pace of play great. Tee boxes, fairways and bunkers were all in great shape for mid July. Greens were clean and relatively fast. Very friendly staff. Overall a good value for the money.
Good overall choice in the OC area
We played both the West and the East course on different days. We all liked the west course layout a little more as it is park-like but both are fun and challenging. The west course has bent grass fairways and the east has zoysia. Both are relatively long from the blue tees, 6575 and 6750, and with the recent rain played even longer. Think of it as good bonding time with your driver.
The staff was friendly and helpful and the chicken salad sandwiches from the grill were really quick and tasty.
Very surprised and pleased with the conditions!
Played the West course. Great layout and very challenging. Course was in good condition, especially the greens. Rough was deep, but there has been a lot of rain so probably not able to cut.
I would play again.
2 courses to choose from
There are 2 different 18 hole courses. East is the easy side and the west is for the lower handicap player. I enjoy both sides. Driving range and practice green, both are in great shape. The staff are always friendly and ready to serve. One of my favorites.
Great Experience
From the moment we arrived at Bay Club until the moment we left, both me and the other person I played with had an amazing experience.
From checking in and paying to getting greeted by the starter, the whole staff was super friendly. We had an 8am tee time on the West course, and the starter gave us an option: we could play behind a threesome on the west, or be the first out there on the East. We had wanted to play Devil's Island, so we chose the West option. Another thing we really liked was that they didn't pair us up with another 2 players. I feel like most people want to play with only 2 when booking, and people normally get paired up. Playing as a two made the round fly by.
The course was amazing. The greens were sneaky, but still gave the roll an opportunity to fall. Although the rough was really thick, the course played amazing. I had actually shot my best round ever until I reached the 9th hole.
The 9th and 18th share a massive green, lake, and some bunkers. Both the 9th and 18th were the hardest holes in my opinion, and both holes ruined my score.
The lady in the kitchen was one of the nicer ladies I have every met. She was super generous and willing to help, and had the thick Maryland accent that almost all Jersey boys love.
For 60 dollars, I would recommend this place to anyone. If you are staying in OCMD, it is about 15 minutes off the island, and the price for what you get was so worth it.
Great experience, would absolutely play there again. I have added a logo ball to my collection.
