Lone Oak
They only take care of their members. They set up a foursome with 4 random GolfNow players(which is okay with me) but I had my girlfriend there to ride along and made me pay an additional $13 for an extra cart. Would not let me set up a new tee time and was rude. Greens were in good condition but that's about it.
Great overall
Course is packed into a small area but works well. Greens are in great condition, tee boxes weren't as good. Enjoyed my round there. Would recommend it to any inexperienced golfers or beginners.
collar police
Rack rate same as golf now minus taxes and fees...time to start using other discount tee time sites....oh, unless I start running low on srixon balls
Very nice course, minor faults
This was my first time at Lone Oak. The course was very well maintained. Great for all levels of games. The paths and bridges need major maintenance upgrades. However, the course and pace of play were above par!
Great course for practice
The course was very wet after what seems like weeks of rain, so that can't be held against the staff/crew. The layout was fairly simple with a couple decently long par 5s. The water hazards and sand bunkers were enough to make for some challenging shots without being overbearing. Overall, I'd recommend this course to anyone looking to get out and work on their game without being too overwhelmed by course difficulty.
Great place to play
Greens were in great shape and only a few bad spots on the fairways but good overall...great place and challenging because of the water and different shapes having to be hit on the holes
Fun course
Lone Oak is a fun course. Not difficult. Greens are fantastic! Some fairways are in bad shape.
Potentially Nice
I have been playing this course for a few years and was even a member for a year. It had always been in great shape but this trip was a let down. Tee boxes were over grown and had lots of bare spots. Fairways were brown, bare, and in very poor condition. I'm all for making the rough live up to its name but itwasso tall it made finding balls a job in itself if they werefound at all. Only saving grace were the greens which were as nice as always. Please get this course back to what it's capable of being!!!
the greens were the only good thing
First off no complaints with the staff very friend and helpful.. They have a decent driving range with good prices for buckets. Also the practice putting green is very nice. Now about the course it is fairly open and has a fun lay out for all level to enjoy. Unfortant that the course was in such bad shape.. I can't think of one fairway that had grass of any sort impossible to play the ball down.. Tee boxes were over grown on the spots that had grass. Greens were nothing in reflection to the rest of the course good shape and rolled at a playable speed and fairly true. If the fairsway were worked on I would play there again unroll then not gonna be back.
Bad Course
Do not play at Loan Oak. This was the absolute worst kept course I have ever seen. There was almost no grass in the fairways, so you were better off hitting it into the rough. If there was any grass it was patches of crab grass. The greens were in ok condition, but the tee boxes were pitiful. The old man in the club house was rude and not helpful at all. Avoid this course, no matter what the price.
early in the yr
Great course. Especially for such early in the season.
Fairways not good
The type of fairway grass used by the course is a late bloomer, therefore the fairways were in "bad to pitiful" condition. Many bare places. The rough was a better play!
Leagues also play on the course, so it's best to call ahead to make sure league play does not interfere the your peacefulness on the course.
Winter round
The course needs work. Traps are in need of repair in a few holes but to be fair we had a lot if rain in the past month.
They are hurting in the customer service department. You don't feel welcome when your dealing with the counter to get a cart and pay. I believe since this course has been a neiborhood course for many years they see new faces as outsiders. I have been 4-5 times and each time we shake our head over the lack of good customer service. I'll be back but I will expect the same non-customer service.
I was told this course was fantastic some time ago and it's ok now especially at a discounted rate.
This course was fun.
The course was a nice course and they are friendly. The play on this course was really slow and we had golfers behind us that were really pushing us that made it a less than fun. When they hit up and are just off the green when your still putting it made me feel very rushed. Don't know if I would play there again.
Becoming one of my favorites
Starting with a par 4 then two par 5's (before there's a par 3) gets me into a long-hole rhythm I've come to appreciate. Having only a few trees lining the fairways also keeps me out of trouble when occasionally slicing or pulling.
The "Somewhat Challenging" part (especially for ladies) comes in the form of numerous creeks, lakes and ponds - some right in front of the greens - and may cause you to lay up.
Most greens are a good size, in good shape and roll fairly true.
I've had one of my best scores on this course and hope to go back again.
Very long course
It has some challenging hole and it's worth the money
old school
Fun to play it has huge greens has cool viewing boxes for blind tee shots. Staff very friendly, par threes make the course. Will play again soon. Went on a Monday no one on course. Like that they only had cart paths around greens and tees.
WGentryT
A Relatively Short Course. Bermuda Greens and Teeing Grounds were in relatively decent shape with the exception of a 3-4 Tees and 2 Greens.
Course makes putting your tee shot in the fairway a necessity in order to score well. Difficult to play if its your first time there, as there are some blind shots and doglegs that can be tricky. However, it is not a very difficult course.
Lone Oak 8-12-2014
This course is in fair to good shape, great value for money if you grab it through Golf Now.
nice day out
Lone Oak is a nice course for working a players shot shaping and club selection.
