Played the course three times.
Playing three times in the 3 weeks we were here I can say it a nice course but lacks a lot..
the tee boxes are bare or very little grass.
The greens,, bent grass and areas right around greens are in good condition.
The fairways for the most part are CRAP.. there is no fairway and rough. it's all rough..They are cut the, what ever will grow, to the same level which can be long enough you can lose a ball.. (three time to me)
While it is a short course measuring 5346 from the Blue tees there is a lot of elevation on the course and dog legs that make it much harder than it appears and with the crappy fairways a good drive is not rewarded lots times.
Being a Thousand Trails member we got a special rate which considering the overall condition was about right.
The carts are gas and some are better than others.
there it is,, a nice course but not great. :)
I will upload photos later..
Annual Family Trip
We've been going to Diamond Caverns since 2009 on an annual family trip. It is always a good time, and we stay in the condos. Course is in decent shape. It plays short and this leads to low scores. Most of my group has shot their life time best score on this course. Friendly staff. Rooms are dated. Worth a go if your in the area.
Everything
This course has everything except distance. Doglegs left and right, up and down hills, and side lies. The greens weren't fast but were fair. Water only comes in a couple times but shot placement comes in almost every time. Staying at the condo's or RV campground gets a great discount. The gentlemen I played with said it's in the best condition of the 4 courses they played recently. A great way to play a three and half hour round.
Skip this course
I was treated like a second class citizen because I used GolfNow. I won't be back. Much better choices in the area like Cave Valley.
Wow
They always complain about the golf now rounds that we buy for there. They say that golf now is killing their business. Course has gravel cart paths & the fairways are all crabgrass. The greens are fair but not great. Probably be my last time playing there.
Fun, inexpensive course
I always enjoy playing at Diamond Caverns. The course has fun holes with interesting layouts and very few sand traps. It's not perfect, and I can see why some advanced golfers with certain expectations might dismiss this place. But I'm a bad golfer, and this course allows me to play bad golf really fast and for a decent price.
Red red red red redneck
Closest course to my house, super cheap with Golfnow.com, but still will never go back. Tried to play two rounds (one on Sunday then on Tuesday) recently, but didn't finish either. Sunday they let me schedule for 9 am when they had a tournament/group event starting at nine. I got out in front of them, but slow play ahead of me and my partner got everything bogged down so it was a mess from there. Gave up after 7 holes. Came back on Tuesday morning 10 am. My partner and I quickly caught up with a group of 6 (yeah I said 6). By passed them only to get behind a threesome who took 15 minutes to go from tee to green after they all three hit in the woods and of course ventured in to the woods to look for their balls. Besides all that the place is very poorly kept. Field grass fairways not closely mowed. No bunkers just one dirt hole that might have been a bunker at some point. I don't even know you (the reader), but you deserve better.
Diamond in the rough
For late March, the course was presentable. First impression was that the staff was very cordial and friendly. They made upgrades to the cart paths, since last playing. Greens were being mowed and were very fair. The course is layed out very nicely. Would recommend this to anyone. It was a fun course, especially for the two beginners, with our group.
Very poor quality course
This course does not have fairways. They simply cut the grass as short as possible. The tee times don't matter, so when i arrived there were three foursomes waiting to play the first hole. I would not recommend this course to anyone and will not be back.
nice country
Greens were great. The teebox's need some attention, but overall a great experience and will play again.
