Great Local course
First time playing here (new to golf). Course layout was a bit confusing, could use a little more signage to navigate between holes. Pace of play was ok, Tee times every 10 min, people were bunching up a bit. Played middle of the day during the week, could see that being a real issue on weekends. Other players respectful, golf carts and paths kind of old. I was hitting off the ladies Tees with my husband (in solidarity) think it was a very fun couples experience! Would definitely play again especially with prices including cart for 2 people less than $60.
Post-Aeration
Tees, fairways & rough were in great shape. Course overall was also very good, no trash etc. Two problem areas: the traps and the greens (temporary). They had just aerated the greens last week so the surfaces were still sandy and bumpy, but puttable. The traps are another story! There was standing water and most traps were compacted and unplayable. It will take a concerted effort by management to make the traps playable!
Terrible Greens
Greens were terrible good value for holes but course was not in great condition
Water stations??
Need water stations on the course. There is only one at the turn
Good Deal - Poor Condition
For a 25$ flash deal, I did not have a huge problem with the course. That being said, the man in the pro shop was extremely rude to me while checking in, and made for a bitter start to the round. While I enjoyed the layout, the course conditions left a lot to be desired. The fairways had bare spots, and the greens were the biggest issue. They were inconsistent, and it seemed like no one wanted to fix their pitch marks. There were also bare areas and dirt areas on the green.
Walden for quick 18
Professional and friendly staff. Rough too high. Average tee boxes and couple greens need work. All in all a decent course. Affordable and convenient.
Nice course
Enjoyed playing it for the first time, need to play it again. The course is challenging, need more yardage markers .
All around horrible conditions
I’ll start by saying this is the worst kept golf course I’ve ever played. I’m used to playing golf courses that need a little help seeing as I usually don’t venture over 40-45 for 18 holes and a cart so I figured I’d go to a nicer course this time and pay the 60. I should of stuck to the cheaper courses if you wanted to hit irons out of the tee box it wasn’t going to happen, seeing as it would be the equivalent of playing out of the sand. Most sand traps were more solid pebbles then sand. 5 greens had divots from people using irons off the greens. Impossible to tell the difference between fairway and rough. Busy safe to say I’ll never play there again
Coarse was average for condition and level of play. Only one putting green and no driving range. I was not impressed with the coarse for what we paid.
Pathetic - stay away!
Ridiculous. I’ve played Walden over the years. In the past, the course clearly couldn’t keep up with summer weeds, which is to be expected when you’re paying $20-$30 for a tee time.
This was the first time I’d played there in a few years and it’ll be the last time I ever play there. Put simply, the course appears as if they’re allowing the last of the suckers to play before the land is sold for development (I have no idea if that’s what’s happening but that’s the feel you get). The fairways aren’t mowed. It looks like a cow pasture. The tee boxes are just dirt, and half are no longer level. The greens are filled with goose poop to the point you have to move your ball (sometimes a long way) to get to a line with no poop.
After reading all of that, if you can believe it, they’re charging $60 for 18 holes. I asked for a refund after 9 holes. They said they only give rain checks. Obviously I declined because I’m never going back.
If you want an affordable round at a playable course, go to Bay Hills in Arnold, the Preserve at Eisenhower, or twilight at Renditions. Stay away from Walden. You’ll just feel like a sucker for paying $60 and playing in a cow pasture.
