Bad greens
We went the Sunday before Labor Day and there was 1 other person on the course. The weather has been hot and dry so the greens were in bad shape. Fairways were decent.
Terrible condition and way overpriced
The condition of this course was the worst I've ever played. They charged $45 for a round and the greens were all burnt up. Tee boxes were in terrible condition and the bunkers didn't even have rakes. I will never play there again, unless they lower there fees to $5 a round. The only upside was the pace of play, but that is more than likely due to no one ever wanting to come back.
Kind-of Sad
Played this course numerous times when it first opened about 18 years ago, and it was very nice. Very much worth the 1.5 hour drive.
Unfortunately, the course is not even close to what it once was. Greens were absolutely horrible with at least 50% of each green burned out. Fairways were better but still a lot of burned out areas. Typical of public MD courses in the summer... cut too close and over watered.
Very cheap though through Last Minute Golf and staff very friendly.
Clubhouse etc in very good condition.
I'd recommend to a friend because its so cheap, but would definitely come with a warning.
Nice fairways
Course was nice. Although greens had just been airrated and had added topping today so it was very sandy. All but one tee box were in pretty good condition. I would play again for sure.
not all bad
Loved this courses layout, multiple eaiser par 4s and the par 3s I enjoyed. Even the harder 4s and 5s I enjoyed until the green. Its a neighborhood course so maybe they dont see a ton of golfers to have to always upkeep the course but regardless, about 6 of 18 greens were in pretty bad shape. Really threw off some of my putts but they did do a good job placing the pins in areas were the green were smooth. Also, a few of the tee boxes seemed to be under reconstruction but not a huge deal to me. Still I loved the potential this place has, with a good practice facility and great staff.
Do not bother
The course has gone completely to pot.
Greens are dead. Grass growing in trapps. Tee boxes bare or crab grass.
Even the driving range has become a jungle of crab grass.
No restaurant to speak of.
Excellent layout, poor conditioned course
Terrific layout with 2 beauty par 3's. Course conditions
were bad with no grass to speak of on tee boxes and
bad bare spots all over Bermuda fairways.Greens were
very nice and speedy though. For the price I would love to return. Water on most holes. Not very busy for an weekday afternoon. Definitely worth the money!
Needs some TLC
First time playing this course and overall enjoyed it and will play again. The tee boxes needed to be mowed and some needed to be reseeded. The fairways are Bermuda and this past winter has taken a toll on this grass resulting in bare spots. Traps were inconsistent with some having almost no sand/hard-pan to others being soft and fluffy. Greens were in great shape, small and average speed. Would have liked to see more undulation on the greens. Course was understaffed and although we saw a drink cart at the proshop, the girl never came out onto the course. Tee offed at 11:30 and finished our round by 3 with a bathroom break at the turn, awesome pace of play!
Fun Day
My first time playing River House since 1996. I'm going to have to get over there more often. Definitely challenging with elevation changes and the island par 3. Highly recommended.
good island shot...
good course but no cart girl for food, hi prices for lunch. Tee boxes need more work,,,
Course has a nice layout even with winding through homes.
This course was a great value for the price paid. Overall it lacked manicuring. There were grass clippings throughout the course on every hole. The fairways were in decent shape and the greens were consistent. Well worth playing especially with the hot rate.
Average. With better conditioning, I would raise my rating.
Interesting layout, tees and roughs had a lot of crabgrass. Some ladies tees were bare dirt. Restaurant was new and nice. This layout is different from the one I played several years ago. It is worth playing it once.
Fun layout
This is a fun layout with a great mix of water and wooded holes. It is challenging but fair. It has a very nice driving range and the conditions are fairly good although not perfect. A number of greens are in the shade so they have a bit of trouble maintaining those to the level of the remainder of the course. I ended up playing with two very friendly members and would definitely play here again for the price.
Handful of Bad Greens
Overall good course. Some challenging holes. Most of the course was very well maintained, except some of the greens were terrible. I say some, I mean 4 or 5 of them really needed work. Those greens had either dead or non existent grass for large majorities of the green.
Had those greens been better, would have been a decent value.
Great course design but the conditions fell short.
The course is nestled into the Easton Club community which gives another level of difficulty. It was a very enjoyable experience to play there but the conditions of the greens were terrible. There were many dead patches on the greens and the tee boxes were very unkempt.
Greens under aeration
Good course and a great value for the money thru Golf Now. Greens were being aerated so it made putting a bit of a challenge. Not the best but for the average golfer a good value.
Fun course, decent value
Had a great time, played at a good pace, would have been nice if they had food available at the turn.
No aeration alert.
Course is mostly Bermuda. Would not play it before June.
No drinking water on a day near 90F. Poor snack service for golfers. Greens had been punch and sanded in the past week.
Cart paths need resurfacing
