Mere Creek Golf Course
About
Mere Creek Golf Course was originally built as a nine-hole course at the former Brunswick Naval Air Station, reserved exclusively for military personnel, veterans, and their guests. The course is now open to the public, offering a challenging but fair test for all skill levels. The holes are somewhat lengthy, which can prove to be tricky off the tees, but the approach shot is more straightforward. Good placement on your first shot and a good drive will guarantee success on almost every hole. The course is far from being flat but it is still an enjoyable walking course. It is great for beginners and casual golfers looking for some practice before taking on a tougher golf course. The casual atmosphere and affordable rates add to Mere Creek's popularity.

a nice place to work on your game
I live only 15 minutes from this course. I just retired in this area---so I figured I would give it a try-- I just got out of the Army ( you see alot of golf courses) my last assisgnment was in Arizona---lots of great golf courses---this place is not one of them
It is a quite simple place in very good shape. The greens are in wonderful condition--most of the fairways are in very playable condition---some spots need some extra care. The rough is just but fair--( that's why they call it the rough) Bunkers are well maintained. If you are a beginer--come here--the driving range is real grass--not those dumb mats--- the course will make you remember what you have to do to be a success. If you are a more experienced golfer--then---it's 20 bucks---go there and work on your game--then eat a hot dog--complain about things in general and enjoy a very relaxing day. very near Brunswick-10 minutes off 295
Good choice
Here on a visit close to where we are glad I went
Excellent condition good pace of play friendly staff
I would recommend
A Fun Round at Mere Creek…
From check-in to the final putt at the last hole, it was a fun day. The staff was both professional and customer oriented. The course offers one a round of golf where one needs to think and not just hit the ball to be successful. Greens offer a fair test to golfers.
Solid Course
Course was in good shape. Well maintained. Great pace of play. Will play here several more times this summer.
Needs sprinkler system
Fairways dry and barren in places . Greens not all green and lumpy missing grass and just unkept .
Bare minimum
Didnt give us any info on where to start or any info on the course. You had to start across the street and we had to go find the guy to ask him because immediatley after we paid he went outside with his friends. poorly kept course, wasnt even worth the money to me. next time im in maine i will look for a different course
Fore!!!
Course is fun to play. Staff are customer oriented and friendly.
Easy Play!!!
Course is good shape. Play was slow due to one couple being extremely slow. Perfect weather for a round of golf. Look forward to our next round at Mere Creek.
Ok
Not sure why they made us wait behind two very slow foursomes
Fore with a Smile!!!
Beautiful day with fun partners. Course is in good early condition. Greens rolled steady and true. Good test for full range of players of all handicaps.
Maybe avoid weekends
Very slow play today which is compounded by those making the turn on this 9-hole course. If pace of play isn't an issue for you and you want a course that is very good for beginners, then you will enjoy the layout and course condition. Bring bug spray for holes 2-5.
Nice track for most skill levels
Steady stream of golfers, including many retirees, play daily. Pace of play remains good because most play the shorter tees, but course is a decent challenge from the tips for lower handicap golfers.
Confusion Resolved
I arrived at course office to check in and was told I could go right out. I asked the woman at the desk about the key for the cart. She said, you need to pay an additional $10. I explained that it was included in the “Hot Deal.” She said the rate you paid was a walking rate for 9 holes, I then told them the Hot Deal was for 18 including the cart. She agreed I could play 18 but needed to pay for the cart. Rather than argue, I said I would go to my car and get the money. Before I left the building, I opened up the GolfNow website and the offer of the 18 hole with a cart, for my time, this morning, was still available online. When I showed her the website she was flabbergasted and said this was not their intention, but being very professional she said she would honor the “Hot Deal.” Obviously, they need to organize their offers through GolfNow better in the future.
The course was in nice condition, though very wet from the dew and muddy in places from recent rains. The pace of play was perfect, as a few people had me play through as a single. I played 18 in a little over 3 hours and ironically, had my best score for this course.
Kudos for the staff for the appearance of the course, the mowers totally stopped when you were in an area they were working on. Lastly, I appreciated them living up to the details of my reservation!!
Great staff. Will work for you to make it a pleasant round.
