Fun course
Rockland isn't the longest or toughest layout you'll find, but you'll certainly get your golf fix in. The front nine had a bit of an "up and back" flow to it, but differing greens help to keep the holes feeling a little different from one another. Back nine is more scenic and quirkier but still feels like part of the course. Overall a good experience and a closing hole that puts a dramatic finish to the of the day with a forced carry to a par 3.
Great course,
Challenging, and fun. Excellent greens and fairways.
Greens are some of the best in the area. Fair to most average golfers. Some challenging approaches and you must plan your positions.
Scenic and challenging
Great value for a well maintained course. Fairways were well grassed; greens ran true but were difficult to read. Speed of greens were faster, but just good for me. The greens also were very similar to the practice green.
Really enjoyed this course. Would highly recommend.
Great vacation golf
Really nice course, exceptional conditions! Very friendly, even to tourists.
New Orleans Swamp Rats
We enjoyed the cool weather, friendly staff & challenging course
Good Place to Play
In the Rockland/Camden area, this is the best choice for a golfer who wants to play a full length course that is well cared for. The atmosphere is casual, and the shop staff all friendly and helpful. Cost of a round is fairly typical for a vacation area, and the course itself is well kept. There are some oddities such as the tenth through twelfth holes clustered in a strange layout, but the course is pleasant to play.
Great conditions
Fairways and greens were in great shape. Pace of play was very good. Head pro and staff very friendly and welcoming. Will be back next time I'm in Maine.
Great course conditions and friendly staff.
Pace of play was a little slow due to the number of walkers but overall a great experience. Friendly staff and fabulous course conditions. This is a must play for anyone in the area.
Local Knowledge
This is a great muni. Fast and tricky greens and overall good condition. Not good after heavy rains, so be warned.
Staff is very helpful and friendly.
I prefer it to the extremely expensive Samoset, but if you need to shoot golf balls into the Atlantic...
Great course. Great value
Rocland golf club is in excellent shape. The fairways are green and lush and the greens are smooth and even. The staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome. I am greatly impressed with the courses setting between mountains and sea. I highly reccomend this courses to golfers at all levels of competence. R Van Zandt.
Love this course
The front nine allow you to ease into the round with the first five holes pretty straight with a couple of dog leg lefts and a dog leg right. The 9th is a long 210 yards. The back nine starts off with a couple of par 3's the second up hill and long. The 13th is a slight dog leg left where you need to stay right center. The 15th is a challenging par 5 at 524 yards . The 16th is a bit long with an elevated green which has an upward flow toward the back. The 17th is all decision on the tee shot. Do you cut the corner and go for it or take a 6 iron and lay up at the left bend which will give you a nice shot into the green which is small. Love this course. The course People are always friendly and accommodating.
Nice course with varying elevations
Course was in great shape, except the traps needed raking and new sand. Watch out for the 3rd green with 2 tiers. If you go long and the pin is on the lower level it's impossible to putt the ball and keep it on the green. Had a great day.
Great course
Great value, fun course to play, friendly staff, would recommend to others and would play again.
Nice course
The course played well, not too wet for this time of year. Greens were slow and speed was hard to judge, fun to read however.
Relaxed Course
Great course to get your game in shape. Extremely friendly people in pro shop. No matter how good/bad I play I always leave with a good feeling.
Good local course, well kept and cared for
I love the last hole that carries a small natural quarry lake... par 3. Great way to end 18.
Great setting
Great staff very pleasant and most accommodating. Well groomed course with some great views. Some holes are quite challenging. I have played this course several times with friends and will definately be back!
Super great course and staff
Enjoyed the course immensely. Thank you to Rockland pro Keenan. Great job
Terrific local course
We really enjoyed the course. The course was not difficult, nice layout and beautiful scenery. Water was available throughout the course as also ball washers. The holes were well marked with a map of each hole on a stone marker. The course was not busy and we finished in 4 hrs. I would play there again.
