Long, Open
Tees from 5500 yds to almost 7300. If you want to take on Ruggles from the tips, good luck its a long track. Pretty wide open and receptive to wayward tee shots, but too wayward and its gone. Very walkable i might add, and can even do so on weekends.
Most recently the conditions have been ok. Greens almost always roll true, can be spotty at times depending on weather. Recently redid the sand in all the bunkers.
Staff is generally friendly. But this isnt a Disney course and everyone has a bad day. Food is respectable and nice bar area. Driving range is there, thats about all i can say.
Its not Bulle Rock or Mountain Branch but a suitable alternative if you dont want to pay for either of them.
Not worth the time
No starter, no Marshall. Course was in OK condition, tee boxes bad shape. Mad house golf, people jumping to other holes, play slow for a weekday. Old carts..
Rough but fair
Greens were aerated and and slow but it is December golf in MD. A tough track from the blue tees. Carts are a mess mine felt like to was going to fall apart on every bump. Don’t pay more than $50 and you won’t be disappointed
Some spot of the green are bold that may require for erecting
Majority of the staff were friendly particularly Dave and Josh.
Basic golf
Basic no frills golf. Head Pro Dave C does a great job with the obviously low budget. Played on a hot deal so can’t complain too much. Worst thing for me are the teeboxes that are full of crab grass. Hard to find the right height for your tee shot. (See pics) My cart was in rough shape but made it all the way around with no problems.
Great layout and a true challenge from the tips. Will definitely return this summer.
High marks for Ruggles Golf course
Golf was excellent. Course is in great shape. The only complaint is that the restaurant was not open for lunch.
