Scenery is beautiful
Beautiful course and layout! Well maintained. One of the finer courses in OC.
Good Beach Golf
The price was reasonable compared to other nearby courses. Layout was fair and challenging. Playing the blended or white tees make it reasonable to manage for the average golfer. There are some forced carries which is the norm for a beach / bay course.
Great Course
By far the best public course I’ve ever played. Great condition,.
What an All American Course!!!!
This was an awesome course to play for the rate. Course was in great condition and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating. Will definitely be coming back soon.
Good Conditions
Considering it had poured over Memorial Day Weekend, I was happy with how the course played.
Pros: beautiful, layout, pace of play
Cons: standard service, lack of push carts to rent, no driving range (but knew that going in)
This is the second time I’ve played here and this time I walked it. I would definitely recommend walking if you’re able to as you really get to appreciate the layout and the course’s beauty!
Just not worth it
Wont be returning. It took 1 hour 20 minutes to play the first 5 holes (and the starter said it was wide open as we left for our 2:30 tee time). 5 hours total. Waiting 5-10 minutes at each tee box. Sometimes 2 groups waiting to hit. You can call but no response from the clubhouse. Perhaps it was the group of 6 3 holes ahead.? In the 5 hour round beverage cart came around once. Annoyingly as you wait to hit the In-cart navigation would periodically send you a message telling you how far behind the pace you are and to speed up and/or that a marshall may ask your group to skip a hole. But there are no marshalls and we were waiting to hit at each shot. Basically the system just reminds you how poorly they manage the course—:so click to remove the message and continue to wait to hit. They can track the carts from the pro shop. Why not get out and get things moving instead of the pointless messages?
Having said all that the track is really nice, especially holes 7 on. However, it is somewhat noisy, On one side of the course there is constant barking of dogs from the humane society, on the other from the RV camp and it is right next to the municipal airport so you get periodic planes taking off/landing. Between the poor pace of play, poor service and the noise it just isn’t worth it- especially for $120 for an afternoon round,
Ocean City Gem
I've been playing the course for well over 20 years and the course conditions were in pristine conditions, best I've ever played. The layout is generally good but there are a couple of holes that are unusual, you need to know the course in order to play them correctly. I wish they would find a way to have some sort of a driving range/net, but the other practice areas are excellent. I was fortunate to get a special rate today, but for visitors the tee rates have gotten expensive but with Covid this seems to be the norm for many courses. Overall a very good venue.
Great Value, Great Course
Perhaps the finest municipal golf course I’ve ever played. Excellent condition and good pace of play. Interesting layout, with a mixture of tough and easier holes. Nice bay views. A bargain at $55, especially when compared to other area courses. Enjoy it far more than the Glen Riddle courses, which cost far more.. Friendly staff, without pretentiousness.
Best in OC
Played many of the courses in the greater OC area and this is the best course of them all. Fair and forgiving. The course was in great shape, but the greens were fast. The scenery was spectacular. The only downside was the clubhouse. It could use some updating, but considering very little time is spent in a clubhouse, one can only be so particular.
Fast greens and rude cart attendant
If you purely looked at the greens on this course that were freshly rolled you’d assume it was for PGA players. Then you look at the rest of the grass and see the lack of crabgrass/dandelion killer. Only once in 18 holes saw the beverage cart. Finally when exiting the 18th it says no carts in the parking lot but the exit dumps you in the parking lot. The cart attendant makes a beeline for us and speaks to us as if we were his children. Sorry it’s not even worth the hot rate for that type of treatment. Courses need to start buying into making people feel welcome even if they make a mistake. We won’t be coming back!
Great value
Course was in great shape, the pace was excellent and the staff was friendly. Food was good too.
Good Day
Any day on course is better than a bad day at work. Only one issue. My friend and I wanted to play a twosome. We’re both long hitters with low HCPs. Got there and the starter said we were playing with one other guy, that we couldn’t play as a twosome. No biggie. It happens. Get to the first tee and here comes another single. “Starter sent me up to play with you guys”. Okay fine. It is what it is. 3 holes later we got twosomes playing up backside. It was twosome after twosome after twosome all day. Why tell us we couldn’t play as a twosome if your gonna stick us with 2 hacks and then have twosomes play up our butt all day? Very frustrating.
