Executive at Needwood Golf Course

I have played in this course several times in the past, but haven't played for more than a year. A county tournament will be held here this coming weekend so I went there for practice. This public golf course was surprisingly well-maintained and its all-in-all impression was improved. It is a good golf course particularly for beginners and intermediates because it is relatively easy. If you keep hitting fairways and greens in regulation, you will get very good score. It's a par 70 course. It was weekday and I had to quit after 16th hole. I paid $25 with GolfNow reservation. It's not bad.

Poor management, they over booked tee times so the back up of golfers waiting to tee off was unbelievable. We had a 2:10 tee time and didn't tee off until 3:00. We had to wait at each box waiting for multiple groups in front of us to play out the hole. We are talking five to ten minute wait at each tee box. I arrived at the course at 1:30 and didn't leave until 8:20, seven hours is totally unexceptible.

I've played this course many times over the years and wasn't expecting a fast pace of play. It took a full hour to play the first 2 holes and I still hadn't teed off on #3. I called the shop to ask if there was a marshall out as I had seen no signs of any. I stopped playing and got a raincheck. I figured it would have taken 6-7 hours to play the round. Totally unacceptable. The starter was unfriendly and not cordial. The pro-shop staff was fine.

The course was in excellent condition except for the sand in the bunker on the 18th hole which was wet and soggy. The greens are excellent. There was an overbooking problem because we had to wait an extra 45 minutes to tee off. This was very unfortunate and should be rectified by the management staff.

while the marshal said he would speed up play, he did not.

I think this courae is well maintained but not pristine. a step down in difficulty as.well as service compared to Hampshire greens, another mcg course. Having said that its stil a beautiful course and I.had great weather playing friday. on.the eleventh.fairway a HuGe turtle was walking acros the.course and I.got some.great pics of him!!!

A little on the slow side. People were right on our tail the whole time. The course looks great for a county course and the price!

Planning on playing every week.

Needwood has definately improved over the last couple years. They have some new bunkers and sand, better fairways and tee boxes. The greens are it's only downfall. While they have plenty of grass, they are very slow and have not been rolled and are extremely bumpy. I think they have a poanna problem.

Other than that, in great shape and moved well for a Saturday afternoon.

I have played this course before and have always liked playing it. This time was no different, I will be returning. The course always provides me with an adequate challenge without being too difficult. Good price to play in late March.

Staff in pro shop very indifferent. Not very friendly/cordial or people oriented, just want to check you in and take your money. I believe if they are in that big of a hurry to take your money (which is expensive on peak times/days) they should be in a big hurry to place water and ball washers at their stragic/designated locations on the course. There was no signage alerting golfers to make sure you have water with you because it is not on the course. Premiuim rates would be understandable when the operation is at premium, operational standards. The 19th hole was not opened, as well, with no signage. Our foursome discovered this, to our disappointment, at the turn.

Played on Wednesday afternoon at 3pm and course was pretty empty. Greens were true and overall course was in good condition, though I made a bad double bogey on 17 to ruin my round!

Despite the time of the year, the course was not in good condition. Other courses in the area are better. The pace of play was terrible. We were a foursome playing behind a threesome and had to wait 1-2 minutes on EVERY SHOT. There was no staff to police the course - I asked. I would not recommend this course to anyone.

A number of the sand bunkers on the course where being repair. I think Northwest is much better than this course. There were debris on the course, so the course could use a little more attention

Nice Montgomery County course. In great shape for December. Greens were a little sandy and they were repairing/replacing many sandtraps. Definitely a "feel good round" kind of course. Not super challenging with short par 5's across the board. I would recommend for a fun inexpensive course.

Green is little bit slow. Course is good for the high handicapped player. Best among the Montgomery county courses.

Course is well designed for good players and less than average players to not feel too discouraged about their game. Excellent landscape with pleasant surroundings throughout the course. The only problem is the tendency to accommodate too many players without moving slow players along. Thefore at tiimes you need to plan on a round of 5 hours.
