Yes and no
I’d you charge $12 for a bucket of balls then the balls should be worth hitting. Range balls are terrible. And if you punch the greens you should offer a discount. Just basic stuff.
Horrible Experience
I don’t know where to begin with this review. There we were, hole 2 with a dead cart. Yes, hole 2. Call the shop to have them bring a new one, they acknowledge but nobody ever came. Call again, same thing. We had to push our cart for 5 more holes to try to keep pace of play and we had things to do later that day. Pushed the cart until we met an uphill challenge that we couldn’t push any longer. Call and call and now it’s just beeping 3 times and hanging up. The cart girl ends up coming around, tells us she heard about us being stuck and tries to radio into the shop that we are still stuck… We sat there for another 40 minutes watching other players play around us.
After the 4th group passes us we see the starter come around. He’s staring at us as if we were in trouble. He looked upset. He asks,”everything alright fellas?” We responded,”No”. He says “Really? Why, what’s wrong?”
We responded, “you have to be kidding me right? You’re joking.”
He then looks caught off guard and says “really.. what’s going on?”
We tell him, we have pushed our cart for 5 holes, called into the shop 6 times on 2 different phones and each time someone says they’re coming and here we are…”
He replies, “ NO WAY! I heard about you guys being stuck but that was like over an hour ago! Let me call the shop”
He calls and 15 minutes later 2 young kids come rolling up with smirks on their faces like they knew exactly what was going on. This was hilarious to them. They tell us that they just found out what happened… and for some reason I actually believed them.
It’s as if NOBODY had a clue what was going on there. Everybody was talking to someone completely different and we were just stuck on hole 7, paid over $100 for this round just to watch other groups tee off and drive by us. It’s a shame because I absolutely love the course, but the staff just cant get right. They’re totally lost. For our troubles, they tried giving us a $30 off the next round.
It’s a joke!! Go elsewhere, somewhere they appreciate you spending your hard earned money. DO NOT COME HERE.
Terrible Pace of Play
You will pay way too much to sit around hole after hole waiting on the group in front of you and feeling pressured by the group behind you. I’ve given feedback direct multiple times and imagine I’m not the only one - and nothing has changed in 2 years since we moved to the area. Needless to say, we only attend when we’re desperate. Plenty of other courses nearby that are better maintained and managed for the same, if not less money.
Positive: they have pretty good food for the turn or after a round!
Wasted my time
I called at noon and asked if the course could get a single out around 1:30 and was told to "come on down". When I arrived at 1:15 and checked in, they told me they put me in for 2:42 but check with the starter to get me out sooner. Starter tells me they are fully booked. Went back in and got my money refunded. Worst part is by this time, nowhere else could get me out either. I play Timbers several times a year but do not plan to going forward.
Great early Spring day of golf
Booked early afternoon tee time on Tee Off website. Course was not busy. Played round in 3 hours with one other golfer; great pace of play. Course was in early spring conditions with some grounds maintenance being done ( e.g. new sod laid on edges of some greens, tee boxes needed some work and start for new grass). Overall, it was a good day for golf. I will return for more golf this season.
Overpriced, cheaper options for similar course conditions
Caption pretty much says it. $96 to have greens that are being patched and re-sodded and never told about it prior to stepping onto the first green….
Not a $100 course
This place was way to expensive. It used to be under $70 now they push $100 with a cart
Pace of play was ridicoulously slow Nobody checks on this
6 hours 2 of us
Fast Green
Green condition was great and really fast..
It was quite challenging to make 2 putts from long putt.
Windy rounding
not bad. Although it rained until morning, the water was still standing on the fairway and it was uncomfortable.
Best Semi-Private Course in HOCO
Timbers has everything a golfer could ask for:
- Range (Mats/Grass)
- Chipping Area x 2 (Big & Small)
- Putting Green (Big)
- Challenging Course
- Clubhouse (Showers/Lockers/Pro shop/Grill)
An underrated/very challenging 18 hole course, long Par3s, & the perfect mix of Par4/5s. Very long, even from the “blue tees”! I think it is definitely longer than on scorecard… This is my go to course to work on any part of my game & or play w/ myself or outing.
I can’t get enough, I could play this course everyday! A must to be included in your “go-to” courses
