BUD Shootout
This was my second tournament at BCCV. Love the tournament staff-excellent people!
The course is a lot of fun to play too. Challenging yet open enough for intermediate and beginners not to feel intimidated. They actively work on the course daily so it’s always in great shape.
I’ll be back.
Superb
The staff is made up of high quality people who are very respectful and helpful. Nice driving range, chipping green, and putting green. Fun and challenging 18 hole layout. Speed of play is excellent. The greens are rolling fast and true. There are some tough holes that call for good placement on the tee ball, in order to have a decent approach shot into some small greens with a lot of slope. Some par 5's are reachable in 2 if the tee ball is hit really well. The par 3's are pretty average in difficulty except for one hole which is over 200 yards. Into the wind it can be a brute. 4 STARS
Tough course
Great course, at a great value.
Great layout, wide open but narrow fairways.
No ranger on course made for a long day. 1 group held up the entire course. Someone picked up my ball and put it in his pocket another guy hit my ball thinking it was his. Rough was patchy as were a few fairways. The course is laid out well but need attention and the patrons need a golf etiquette lesson.
Had a great time
Went to this course for the first time this past Thursday. Arrived a few minutes early since I did not know how crowded it would be. Easy course to get to and located the pro shop to pay for my time. The gentleman who greeted me was very nice and even warned me that they just had aerated the greens. Because of this, he gave me a nice discount. I was by myself and was playing behind a foursome who had gone out earlier. Nice views, and some challenging holes. I only lost two balls. The course is wide open when a few holes that have very narrow fairways. The greens will be nice once the process is over. They have maintained a nice course and was worth the drive I made. I am also glad I got there earlier, because as I made the turn, there were a lot of foursomes that had started to play. I like this course and with me playing best ball with myself, I shot an 85.
Can be challenging
The course is always in really good shape. Some holes can be very challenging, but enjoyable to play.
This course is the most beautiful layout and excellent maintenance.
Every single hole has something different challenge for golfers.
Enjoyed my Round
Lots of insects that I was told are of particular concern when humidity is up. Will play course again. Fair layout greens were firm and not receptive on this day.
Fun and challenging course
Beaver Creek Country Club is a fun and challenging course. It is a tight setup with a lot of trees and some OB and water. However, missing the fairway wasn't the worst thing in the world. It was in good but not great shape, but for the end of August, that is to be expected. This is an enjoyable course that can be played rather quickly on slow days but still provides enough of a challenge to make it fun. I highly recommend this course to anyone of any ability.
A fun course to play!
The greens and fairways are in very good shape. Greens are soft, but not that receptive due to the fact that they are fast. Wrong side of some fairways means no straight shot into the greens. Two birdies and two double pars shows the inconsistency of my play, but also you can score on this layout. Have fun when you play this course.
goof day out
Course was in better shape than in recent times; however, lack of spraying leads to lots of bugs
This is a great course well worth the 18 dollars I payed to play this course!
The course made me use most of the clubs in my bag, shots that were placed on the wrong side of the fairway left me with challenges of trying to slice, hook or layup for the next shot. I will definitely play this course again this summer.
Too far to travel for nothing special.
The course is a typical old, rural golf course which is well maintained (except the traps-they were sand-free hard pan) but essentially look like a well-mown front lawn. Layout is hilly with a few nice views, and some interesting holes, but overall it was not quite worth the hour I drove to get there.
Nice course- tight fairways, elevation changes, and no houses.
The course is hilly but walk-able and in decent shape. There are areas where the aesthetics could be improved with some maintenance- replace rotted boards along edges of ponds, hide the equipment shed. It seems this course has regular outings of 2-8 foursomes- you won't be able to get out early but you should get out close to your tee time. However, the pace of play is good.
Lightening fast greens
Only a short drive from DC metro area, Beaver Creek is a former private country club in the outskirts of Hagerstown that now allows guest tee times. The course was in decent shape. Fairways were ok for the most part. Some areas were burnt out or in need of repair, but to be expected March. Best part of the course, the greens. Lightening fast but soft enough to hold on. Overall, the course needs some spring maintenance, but I would definitely play here again.
Not about how far you can hit it.
This is one of my regular tracks. It is not very long but that doesn't mean it is not challenging - fairways are tight and lined with pine trees that eat anything that dare come their way. The greens (even for this early in the season) are very fast and hard to hold. To play well here - hit'em straight, bring your best short game and take it easy on the greens.
