Sloppy
Sloppy standing water branches all over the place no one cleaning up. Great greens.
Greens rolling great for this time of year
Course is actually in much better shape than it was after the triple digit weather we had this summer. Obviously this time of year there’s some wet spots but all in all it played great. There was nobody out there played in three hours for 18 holes with only a sprinkle.
Historical course on the decline.
Played here for several years but slowly noticing the decline in course.
Front nine has some fantastic holes and a few holes near Reed college and the Rhododendron gardens are great but there are some holes you’ll want to play through quickly near the train tracks and industrial area lined with trash, vagrants and bad characters. Witnessed a fight on the street adjacent to the tee box while waiting to tee off on hole 15 immediately followed by two shady vehicles approaching us in reverse then speeding off. Not sure I’ll be back for sometime.
Great Course
Due to the pandemic you play the back 9 first. The hardest holes are on the back. Course was in great shape. Played just over 4 hrs. I will be back
Second Time
Great little city course in one of the better neighborhoods in Portland!
Golf in December
No rain but wet conditions made for a fun day in the sun of golf. The greens were in very good condition and considering this is the end of December, great time. Pace of play was slow.
Portland Classic
Couldn't pass up one last round at this good old course. Got wet on the first hole or two but it settled into a nice cool fall day. I'd say that every hole has it's own unique challenge. They all make you think and many don't require or even allow a driver.
My love hate relationship with Eastmoreland
I live fairly close to Eastmoreland, the staff is always great and I go over there to hit often or use the chipping and putting area.
I always feel like I can go out and hang a number at Eastmoreland, I know the course fairly well and have played it often but each and every time something jumps up and bites me.
Eastmoreland's trees and at times quirky layout makes you have to think. You can't rip the ball two fairways over and have a shot. The doglegs lend themselves to aggressive shop shaping where you can really benefit from a solid drive.
It's not overly long even from the blues, you can keep the driver in the bag most of the day.
Slow play
Early afternoon tee time. waited for group in front to clear #1 before teeing off and still spent the day hitting and waiting
Course conditions were very good....
Pace of play. sucked
First Time
Staff were friendly,, fairways were soaked, playing partners were nice. will probably play again.
Great job Eastmoreland
Starting off on Hole 10 has been fun! It was the original Hole one so history has come full circle. Playing Hole one as ten is harder than usual. The greens are amazing. Great job grounds crew!
