Either you like Redgate or you don't. The course is hilly and #16 plays tough. There are several very nice holes but a couple have blind tee shots. .The only flat holes are two par three's and #18. All the others or either up or down, sometimes both. Actually I enjoyed the course a lot. In my opinion it is the best value course in the area.

Course in very poor shape, what really was the problem, the pace of play. It took us 90 minutes to play 6 holes which put us on pace at 5.5 hours. There were times when it was between 5 and 10 minutes between shots, avoid the place.

I hate to say this, having had some fun rounds at redgate in the past and understanding that this is a local muni, but this was literally the worst course conditions I've ever seen anywhere. Bar none. Not even close. You had to hack through two inches of crab grass and weeds just to hit a TEE SHOT There was no sand in the bunkers at all. The greens needless to say were horrid. And the fairways full of unrecognizable weeds, rocks, bare hard packed dirt,, and random grass cuttings. They honestly shouldn't be charging money to play there.

Rough was far too long and thick with weeds. Any well struck ball that barely missed the fairway was lost. Spoke to a course attendant who agreed it was terrible.

For the past 5 yrs, I loved the course. Yesterday, I was shocked to see the ruined greens, tee box and rough area. It was unattended and cannot be called the golf course. Great layout has been ruined. I want to see the course coming back to its glory days.

Overall lack of maintenance apparent. Tee boxes and greens weed ridden. Fairways poorly cut. No sand in bunkers. A municipal course with a minimal budget. Experience does not make you want to return, even for $49 prime time on weekend. Prefer to pay more for well maintained track. This course must be costly to City of Rockville.

The team here at Redgate sincerely apologizes for your less than pleasurable experience. It was an unusually slow pace with the high volume we experienced Saturday. The team is working on ways to speed up pace of play and enhance the playing experience including better communication with guests when we are experiencing delays. We hope you will give us another chance soon.
