Reviews
No fairway grass
There was grass on the fairway, but no different then my front yard. There must be 40 different types of grass and weeds in the fairway. Greens were OK.
Geneva Farms
Excellent value for the money. The tee boxes were only in average shape and the grass was too long on a few. Most of the greens were in good condition. Some, however, had had a number of bare spots. Overall the course was in decent shape for this late in the summer.
Course maintenance a problem
Have played this course on and off for 30 years. Although they've made some progress, notably on the green on 12 which once was wiped out, they have let all the tee boxes get overrun with crab grass and many greens have support dirt spots. Greens and fairways were a little shaggy. Many tees had clearly not been moved for some time as the locations were very dug up.
A good deal for a discount round but not one I'd pay a lot more to play.
Solid course
Geneva is Geneva...never fantastic but a good average course that I always enjoy. Course condition is steady but nothing you'll see at higher quality courses
Do it again
Would play Geneva Farms again...
#10 hole is like an island green, with a lake on the right, a stream directly in front and severe slopes off to the left and the back.
Great for the $$
I really enjoyed this course except for 2 things. First, all the bunkers had 100's of bees in them and second, they need a ranger to keep the pace moving. We played front 9 in hour and half and 3 hours on the back nine which got very frustrating
Unbelievable RUDE
I always wanted to play this course, so it was my first time there. I had a tee time for 11:57am. The guy behind the counter at the Pro Shop was very rude, he was appalled that I booked my tee time thru GolfNow. He literally threw my cart key across the counter at me. I asked where the carts were located and all I got was a point in a general direction. When I came back in to tell him there were no carts, his reply was "you'll have to wait for someone to finish then." Then while on the course an old man on a mower pulled up next to the green on #5, and took a phone call while walking across the green while I was preparing to putt.Once again How Freakin RUDE. But it gets worse, because just 2 holes later the same old man watched me tee off and hit the middle of the fairway and then he preceeded to run my ball over with the mower. I should have left at that point, I paid for 18 and I really wanted to finish. But I gave up after 9 holes. The other players that I encountered turned out to be just as rude as the staff.
Unbelievably RUDE
Rude beyond belief. The guy in the pro shop behind the counter was appalled that I booked with GolfNow and literally threw the cart key across the counter at me. Then I had an old guy on a mower run my ball over after he watched me tee off on a short par 4. I was playing by myself and there was a threesome that was late for their tee time and butted in front of me, and never offered for me to play thru. While waiting for the afore mentioned group, I'm sitting in the middle of the fairway when another golfer behind me decided to tee off, almost hitting me. The same guy teed off on a par 3 while I was putting.
I paid for 18 holes, but got fed up with the rudeness and left after 9. The GM of the course couldn't be bothered with my complaints, because he was at lunch at 1:45pm.
Dog Track Not A Golf Course
It's been years since I was here and nothing has changed. Tee boxes are a mess, fairways are a joke and the greens are the worst in the state. Anyone who actually plays golf would not want to play here. Great for kids and guys in wife beaters and jeans(they are here.) Save your money.
don't waste your moneyconvicts staff
don't waste your money inmate bringing ground for workers the weeds are plentiful again don't waste your money let them go bankrupt
A hidden gem!
We had a very nice experience at Geneva Farms. It was my friends first golf outing and my return to golf after 5 years. The course was perfect for us. There were some long Par 5's and a few nice Par 3's. Plenty of water and trees, hazards, and beautiful landscape, friendly staff, and nice clubhouse with good food. In all, it was a great day!
Good for those new to golf
Only issue was extremely humid. Fun little course, not super challenging, so great for the novice, but fun for the experienced golfer too.
Cut the greens please.
I would need to go to see a psychiatrist after playing these greens before I can go play golf again.
Geneva farm golf course
The course was in good condition , but the time of play was too long 5 1/2 hours and waiting at every hole took the fun out of it.
Good value but not great
Granted we did play right in between a couple days of rain, this course was not in the shape we expected. Course did not hold water well. My biggest concern was the greens. Several of them had patches with no grass, and there were small mushrooms and ant hills on them as well. This being considered, still had an enjoyable round as course is not too difficult. Very friendly staff and we took advantage of the lunch special they have, which creates some value. Overall just not what I expected. It was not too bad but also nothing special.
Waste of time and money
This is a horrible course! Very poorly maintained with poor greens, fairways and temporary holes. A few holes on the back nine smell like sewer garbage. I would not play this course again even if it were free, It's a terrible golf experience. Stay away!
Good value great fun and excellent food
I've played here several times but first this year. Previously greens were in bad shape but still good value. Course is in the best shape I've seen and staff is friendly. Had a great post round meal which included a delicious veggie sandwich. New golf carts. Place is either under new mgmt or they have woken up. Either way the course should now be a more enjoyable round of golf for all levels.
great geneva deal
came down from DE and was worth 1 hour drive. excellent value from Golfnow, especially for busy Sunday. Some of the greens need work.
A good course
The course was in good shape except for the green on #12. I liked the overall lay out of the course. The course has many challenging holes with #6 being a tough par 4. The key to the course is to keep the ball away from the trees or the pines will punish you. I enjoyed the day and will play there again.
