About
Nestled in the foothills of the Catoctin Mountains about 15 minutes from Fredricksburg, Glade Valley Golf Club has been selected as a top-100 golf course in the Mid-Atlantic region by Washington Golf Monthly. The Jim Reck design, which opened in 1990, has a nice mix of woods, water, natural habitat and sand traps that will test golfers, but the golf course isn't overly difficult.

Good condition
Had a small issue with pass I bought and had to wait for different person to look into it. They refunded me with no issues. The course was in good condition and the greens were very nice. Caught up with a group in the back nine and there was play was painfully slow - wish there was a Marshall to speed them.

Our only issue was the pace of play and it was because there were a.couple 5somes ahead of us. Never seen that before

Nice course
Enjoyed our day at Glade Valley. There was a bit of wet weather a few days leading up to our visit as well as the morning of our visit.
The carts were given to us dry. We liked they had auto brake lock once you stopped. The carts never rolled away on us.
For all the wet weather that had come the few days leading up too our visit, the tees, fairways and greens allowed u s to walk around and play without getting our feet soaked or slipping on bad turf.
I’ve only played twice here, but both visits were excelllent and definitely recommend a try. It’s a fairly open course allowing for some flex on errant shots.
Glade Valley is definitely worth the money paid and a good experience for my group of 6 golfers we split into two groups. We had beginners to experienced golfers in our group.

Pleasantly Surprised
Was in Frederick area for other reasons. Wanted to get in a round of golf at end of the day. Course was in very good shape. Straight forward layout. Very nice course for intermediate to beginning player. Got around in 4 hours. Very reasonable rate at 4pm. I would not hesitate to go back!

Great value!
Course was in overall decent condition. Tees and greens were in good condition. Fairways were okay but they did have several fairway bunkers that were let go and not playable out of.

Revisit to Glade Valley
Played GVGC today for the first time in several years. Course is in much better condition now. Thoroughly enjoyed our round today and the beer in the grill afterwards. Pace was excellent at 4:10. Will definitely return to play again.

A diamond in the rough
I have never been at this course until this year and I only have one word WOW. Very impressed not only by the staff and amenities but by the course conditions themselves. I don’t really want to say it because it will now become busy and hard for me to get a tee time, but one of the better and most enjoyable and fun and forgiving courses for a beginner or someone who is going back out on the course after a long break from the sport. Enjoyed it very much.

Great course slow pace
Just had the pleasure of playing 18 here and may I say it's a wonderful course with a greatly maintained grass
But got stuck behind a 4some and had multiple 5 to 10 minute waits to tee off
