Decent Local course
Nice layout but could really stand some marshaling. Lots of slow players and many players that have no clue as to simple stuff like fixing ball marks and waving faster groups through.
Nice layout and reasonable condition but, could be much better experience with a little effort by the staff.
Fun in the sweltering heat of June
Course in fair shape, greens looked good but speed uneven due to watering. Overall, decent course but average value.
Public course with potential
Excellent for the money. The course, as many do, needed grooming. Fairways were patchy, but don't complain. Roll your ball to a tuft of grass and play on. Greens roll very slow so just adjust your putting stroke accordingly and you will make your putts. Nice layout. Driver off the tee is not always your best option. Play to your yardage for your approach shot and you will have an enjoyable round. Don't mind the race noise.
Hahaha very interesting!
I never seen anything like whats happening in this course while I was playing. There two groups of dad and sons are playing some kind of soccer-golf in the middle of the course. They were playing 18 holes as well. I guess the course allowes it.
The course was okay. Green was slow but not too bad. Mostly up and down.
Has improved over the spring
Had previously played here about a month prior and front 9 conditions were abysmal. Only came back due to crazy cheap deal from Golf Now for 18 w/cart. Was pleasantly pleased to find the course in MUCH better shape than last visit. Know that some of their past regular players have bolted due to the inclusion of soccer golf being added to front 9 but didn't encounter one out on course this day. Greens were in good shape. Will be back particularily if I can get one of those great prices again because course is closest option for me and work can be unrelenting at times.
Better than before
Pleasantly surprised it was in such good shape. Greens in good shape. A little slow.
Reminded me of home
My wife and I both had the day off and I decided to book us a tee time on Golfnow.com. I can't say enough how we really enjoyed our day together playing golf at White Plains. My wife is a beginner and I've been working with her mostly off of the course and this is a great course for me to bring her again to work on course play and management. The friendliness of staff and other golfers were astonishing. Living in northern Va/DC area people don't seem quite as friendly compared to my home where I was raised back in NC. It was about an hour drive each way (2hrs total) for us to play White Plains and was well worth the drive and money. The course was is ok shape but I can't complain for the rate we paid through Golfnow. Greens were in good shape even though it seemed I repaired 5-10 divots every green where others weren't. It seems that I've been having to do this everywhere I've been playing not just White Plains. I will def return to play this course again simply for the reason of the staff and other golfers being so friendly. Also the pro shop had some really great deals on clubs, shoes and apparel. They had Nike rain suits for $130! Oakley shoes (closeouts) for $50! I will probably return to buy the Cleveland sand wedges they have which are the lofts I've been looking for (54 & 58 degrees). They were willing to negotiate a price on these wedges which shows me that they want business. My wife and I really enjoyed our afternoon spent out at White Plains. Thanks to all of the staff there! Nice little course
Tight short course with some good shot making holes. Must be accurate to score well. Not in as good a shape as it has been in the past, but fun to play.
Great deal
Pace of play was unreal. No hold ups at all. Nice layout. Decent course for the price. Nothing fancy. Staff was very nice.

Got a Tee time on Golf now for $15 so I figured I would give the course a shot. I used the Golf now GPS to the course, but it took me somewhere else. I called the Pro Shop and told them that and I would be there shortly. Upon arriving I go to check in and the guy at the counter has a terrible attitude. He tells me "we don't usually let you play after you missed your Tee time" after I called and told him what happened. After that he just walked away not asking if I needed anything else or if I knew the course. I had no idea where #1 was so I was just driving around in the cart like a chicken with no head. After I Tee'ed off I caught the group in front of me twosome no big deal, but as I am waiting they hit three balls apiece off the Tee. There is no marshal out there to push the players along so it was a long 5 hour round of golf. Definitely would not recommend this course to anyone.
County Park Course
Course was in fairly good shape for this time of the year. Did not see any bald spots on the greens.
Nice Layout, Lacking Course Conditions
From a positive standpoint, I really like the layout. I wouldn't call it target golf, but you do have to think your way around and not pull driver at every tee box. I know the rating says this place isn't that challenging, but this is actually a pretty tight driving course at times. For course conditions, maybe I'm being hard on a muni, but the greens are too shaggy and are consequently annoyingly slow. What bothered me more though was the fairway conditions. I want to be rewarded for hitting the fairway, but all too often I'd draw a bad lie in the short stuff because of weeds growing faster than the grass, a little bit of hard pan, etc.

The course was good coming out of the winter weather, so I rated it fair considering. Hope they take the time and expense to thicken and green it up for the season then it should rate at least good.
Pre super bowl round
Cold weather, and no traffic. We had a very nice round with no delays. Course in decent winter shape. Booked tee time via "golf now", nice move White Plains golf course.
Could be so much better
I learned to play golf on this course and that was 18 years ago. The course has only gotten worse and more expensive in those 18 years. Its just a bad course and with other courses 20 min away that are better value and better quality. The only reason I see to play this course is to remind don't yourself why you don't want to. I want this course to be good I really do. My suggestion is close it down for a year or two and completely redo the entire thing. You will make money hand over fist if this is done right.
Good public course
Relaxed play on tight fairways. Tees and greens are in good condition 2014. Practice areas limited.
You get what you pay for.
White Plains is a budget-friendly municipal course with an interesting layout. There are many blind tee shots and some elevation changes. Standing water is a problem on some holes, especially in front of the 10th green. Less than a driver is required on some tee shots with doglegs. Trees often come into play for shots slightly off line. There is nothing fancy about White Plains, but it's not boring either.
