Slowest course ever played. They take the enjoyment out of the game. Over 5 hrs to play 18 holes. They continue to overbook tee times. They are more concerned about revenue than they are about the experience.
We apologize for the slow pace of play and any inconvenience it may have caused you. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we appreciate your feedback.
Brutally slow
Course was in decent condition but many of the greens were bumpy. Play was brutally slow. They started our group, and others, on #10 to alleviate congestion, which did not work. Twosome in front of our group of four. Many times we were sitting 2 groups deep, sometimes 3, while another group was still on the tee box. It’s clear that volume of players is more important than the quality of the round provided. I’m sure it works for the business model but the experience isn’t a pleasant one.
The groups of golfers waiting at tee boxes were all respectful of each other and gave/left each group some space.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of our course. We apologize for the bumpy greens and the slow play you experienced. We appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration as we continue to improve our course and customer experience.
Play Acushnet River Valley
Acushnet is that hidden jewel that every golfer loves to find. Driving range, putting green; no chipping. Professionally and pridefully maintained. Excellent staff, superb pro instruction. Most importantly such a great collection of 18 unique holes. The turn between 11 and the rest of the back nine always makes me smile. I love this place.
A little disappointed
I've played here meany times. Staff is always friendly. This trip was a little disappointing. Greens were SLOW amd people using this course need ro learn how to fix ball marks. I was fixing 3 to 4 on every green when waiting for others in my group to putt. There was also noone monitoring pace of play and group in front of us watched each other make their shot and then marvel about good ones instead of getting to their ball and hitting. $73 bucks a little steep as well for this track.
ALWAYS Very slow play, no ranger
This course sucks. 5 hour round on Friday starting noon. Not even the weekend. No rangers. And who heard of aerating the greens 2nd week of August? This course is not worth playing unless you can start very early morning.
We apologize for the negative experience you had during your round of golf at our course. We appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration to improve the quality of our service. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
Intra-euro leagues
They were far too many intramural golfers, the backed up the entire golf course. They should go out earlier.
Pace of Play is the Only Drawback
Arguably the best “bang for your buck” anywhere in Bristol/Plymouth counties. Great track for all skill levels. Greens and fairways were in excellent shape, especially for the price. As usual, however, it was a 5 hour round. I had not played this course in 2 years because of pace of play issues, but wanted to give it a try again. The pace of play is still a problem. It seems to be a result of overbooking, with tee times only 8 minutes apart. Once out there, there was no Ranger to usher along the slower groups. There were consistently 3, sometimes 4 groups on every hole on the back 9 (we tee’d off of 10). Acushnet has to do a better job of managing the pace of play and their tee sheet. I have talked to various people who have the same assessment of this course as I do.
I had the same issue with slow play 5+ hrs for 18 holes. Tee times were 5 minutes apart!
Great Round!
Beautiful course layout and very well maintained. It was a nice weekend day and very crowded as a result. Play was naturally a bit slow.
Long Hot Day
Enjoyed the layout . Had a good mix of holes. Reasonably difficult without being penal. Greens , tees and fairways in very good shape. Main complaint (as usual these days) is ridiculously slow play. 5 hour round, no ranger. I know some courses are reluctant to push slow players, but moving things along will improve the experience for everyone. Maybe some day.
