This course has great conditions.
Great golf course to play at any level.
Amherst Golf Club not impressive.
My friend Tom and I played this course very late in the season on a warm Saturday afternoon in December. Since it was challenging to find each hole, it provided for an awkward golf experience on this 9 hole layout. If your looking for a quick 9 hole game this place is not too bad.
THE BEST GREENS in Western, MA.
Terrific 9 hole course. Excellent shape, the greens are true, slick & challenging. This place was so much more than we anticipated.... We'll be back
Nice little course, good value
Just a nice place to get in 9 holes. Course is well groomed carts are clean and reliable. Not a difficult course to play. Does have some climbing.
Amherst
Great course to get out and play. Very straight forward but the green are super challenging.
Great 9 hole gem
Perfect conditions fairways, greens...the Pro was also very helpful with information...great place!
Great Experience
Conditions were nearly perfect, the fairways neat and trimmed, the greens fast and true, even the rough wasn't so rough. Staff very helpful and friendly. Course was not crowded at all and pace of play was quick.
Great value
Excellent course conditions and beautiful views. Very fun course layout.
Amherst: the Real Deal
The consensus among experienced golfers in western Massachusetts, is that the Amherst Golf Club has the best, and fastest, greens. Hands down. In my opinion, it also has the most consistently good conditions of any course in the area. The layout is 9 holes, yes, but alternate tees on the back make it play quite differently. The club is over 100 years old, and it has all the qualities, and challenges, of classic courses of the golden age of golf. You have to be below the pin on most of your approach shots...or pay the consequences...especially the 190 yard par 3 ninth, which is extremely demanding. Three of my playing partners today were above the hole and putted off the surface. I was under the hole and made my par, which usually means they're buying.
Overpriced and poorly laid out.
We tried this course because Cherry Hill was being aerated. For a nine-hole course it is difficult to get around because several holes converge tees and greens in the middle and there are no signs or paths to guide you. There is nothing special about any hole. The par four 8th and long par 3 9th holes actually share a fairway so you are warned not to tee off until the 9th fairway clears. So for this experience my threesome was charged more than $100, including carts.
