Maplegate Country Club
About
Maplegate Country Club sprawls across 150 acres of gently rolling hills that are blanketed with forests of stately maple, oak, beech, and white pine trees. The golf course is situated just off of I-495 along the border between Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Although the location is seemingly isolated, it’s conveniently only 45 minutes from Boston. The course plays harder than it looks with a diverse layout that will test you with a variety of different shots. Maplegate Country Club's front nine features more target-style golf but you'll get to pull out your driver on the back nine. There are some tough holes, but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper. The variety that the golf course offers made it the natural choice to host U.S. Open Qualifiers in both in 1998 and 2001.

This course, no matter how many times you play it, never gets old. They keep it maintained better than most and the layout is unmatched!!lacks a clubhouse
Through the hardwood forest
Beautiful old school course throughout the hardwood forest, tree lined fairways and you can find your ball easily if you ever hit into the trees.
Very well kept! Pride of management is evident anywhere you look !!
Beautiful 👍

Price was great!!! Some greens and tee boxes were in rough shape. Cart paths were horrible. Fairways were in good shape

ALL one star ratings are to try to get the OWNERS ATTENTION
Please, to the owners, read this, check with your on site GM, and then ponder some choices...about the impact of the Golf Camp and its ownership/protocols as they impact your ownership/busines..
After planning my morning, for a 12:14 pm tee time, and knowing there IS a Golf Camp, I arrived early to check in and as I was walking I saw the Golf Campers teeing off from the FRONT tees, and a whole host behind them as well...and first thought was UH OH...as I walked to the PRO SHOP I saw the 10th tee with no one on it...after getting checked in, I then loaded up, and went to putt, and in so doing crossed paths with the Starter/Ranger on his way out to see where the earliers Golf Campers were...I would later learn, the campers are sent out, then brought back in for their lunch...but there should be about a 4-5 hole gap before I would run into them...I then am told I am a single(go back to not being able to go off the 10th earlier) with the assurance by the Clubs Asst Pro the kids would be no issue as I am approaching the first green...so I putt out, make the drive to the next hole and see golf bags etc in the middle of the fairway...I simply turn around, not wanting to play hop scotch in any remote way, with youngsters, for a potential 5+ hour round as I felt it would become...
At the PRO SHOP I advised the GM of my reason for asking for a refund, and that I would deal with it via GOLF NOW...and ironically, since he and I chatted at length about it outside, he presented that I was the fourth incident that he has had with the CAMP OWNER...not caring...since he felt he could make his tee times any time he wanted since he has been doing these for 30 years(I have been playing here quite some time, and no where near 30 years has there been a GOLF CAMP on site)...the owners should know, I have repeatedly in carts with a camper in the seat, one on the outside of the driver holding on, one on the passenger side holding on, and two on the back holding on...and behind the 1st and 8th holes where, any over shoting of a shot, could hit the kids...then, the driving range is an area where the Camp counselors are virtually non existent...golfers think they are HAPPY GILMORE and bouncing balls off the side separaters...
To the owners, Erick did a great job chatting with me, but, the need to support him, is up to the business decision the owners make about how to perhaps REIGN IN THE ARROGANCE/ENTITLEMENT ATTITUDE OF THE CAMP OWNER....by not supervising his counselors about the insurance risk and physical harm both the kids and those around them might have happen...
For now, I will call ahead, at all times in the future, to see if there is a camp on site, and if so, defer until it ends before playing and bringing my four some to be potentially subjected to the campers
We apologize for the negative experience you had during your visit. We appreciate your feedback and we will address the concerns regarding the Golf Camp and its protocols. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
Course was in great condition
First time playing there, course was in excellent condition. My only complaint, group ahead of us was very slow. I will return!
MikeBileau, thanks for the amazing review and for choosing Maplegate Country Club. We hope to see you again soon!
Fun course!
Great layout! Opportunities to hit less than driver off the tees. Played around in just over 4 hrs on a Saturday morning, and the course is is great shape! Can’t ask for much more than that!

Front nine is Challenging
Play here a couple of times a year. Pace of play is slow on the front due to its layout. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Beautiful but overbooked course
Enjoyed this track but they need to move their booking windows from 9 min to 11. Within 2 holes we were stacked up at the tee boxes, and on the par 3s it’s was sometimes 3 groups watching a 4th tee off.
Layout was fun, not your typical drive - chip - putt format due to many of the holes having a swamp/river cutting through it. Unfortunately it did start to become redundant on the front especially where you basically hit your 190yd shot, then that shot again to go over the hazard, then chip/putt. 4-5 holes played like that.
Staff was very friendly and the bartender makes great drinks. Conditions were well maintained overall, but greens were surprisingly slow, like my putt would stop halfway down a downhill slope.
If this course was $20 cheaper I would 10/10 recommend but it was a good last minute booking to find on the weekend in the summer.

Slow,Expensive and rude, much better options for less $$$
Not a fan for years , but decided to give this track another shot, Golf course is good , not great layout is ok but not worth the money , pulling in the impression is entering a potentially great course , until you reach the dirt driveway brimming with carts, kids, and dust , found a spot and headed to the double wide trailer they call a "Cuntry Club" main building / pro shop / snackbar/ kids camp , the cashier , bryson dechambeau's evil twin could only use 2 credit cards for a foursome and 2 had to pay cash , headed to tee box in a dirty cart , ranger was friendly and tee off on time , with a group in front and in back , but the tee time spacing was around 8 minutes which is way to fast and crowded, course was in great shape and the positives were the lack of greens-keeping machines operating , ( in the past they had a machine in progress on every hole , couldn't fit them in if they tried) and no kids being dropped of mid hole for golf school , which in the past 3 outings were a nuisance, the highway noise was great on a few holes, but no course is perfect and this cash pig is FAR from it , also you may want to schedule a chiropractic adjustment after your 6 hour 18 hole $100 education as This double wide establishment is Asphalt free , do yourselves a favor and stay clear of this rough in a diamond , thank god for Kate and Jana for keeping the beverages coming , the only highlight of the day .

nice place
Played here for the second time this year. Course was in very good shape. Speed of play seemed slow but we did play in 4 hours and 20 min. I still think $69 for walking is a lot and you would be hard-pressed to convince me otherwise.

Worth playing
While visiting friends nearby I searched the area on Golf Now. Reviews were good so I booked it,
Challenging course. On a number of holes you to hit over hazards. Some from the tee others on the second( or third) shot .
Water comes in to play on a few holes as well.
Bpbp13, thank you for the awesome rating! We hope to see you again at the course very soon for another great experience, and thanks for choosing Maplegate Country Club.
