Worst experience EVER

Not only was the course in very poor condition but then when it was league play we were discriminatated against and basically forced off the course by the men that were there to play in their "league". Being talked down to and made to feel unwelcome on the course is not ok. We paid full price to play a full round and didn't get it in because we were made to feel so miniscule by these men that thought they were superior to anyone not in their "league".

Fall morning at Billerica

My gf and I walked the front nine on a Monday am. Course was quiet and not crowded at all. We here in New England have been suffering thru a long drought and this course really showed it. Tee boxes were beat up pretty bad and fairways were basically bare. #3 and #4 had terrible lies due to no grass. Course plays short but can be neat place if it comes back with TLC. Greens were good except for pitch marks not being fixed by inconsiderate players. I'll try again next year. 19 th hole is a great spot. Food, service and atmosphere is golf friendly!!

Good course for the money

Billerica CC was 34.00 dollars to walk....and not an easy walk on a hot day. If walking make sure it is cool out or you are some what fit. From the BLUE TEES you really need to at least a 14 handicap or lower....some holes are tight /tree lined and thick bushes and no room for spraying your tee ball. I have also played from the WHITE TEES = much easier! and more fun!
Fairway grass is really dry with a lot of crabgrass and greens were slow but not burned out. Greenside bunkers are in decent/good shape .Therefore it is a not a wet courses...dry track for sure.....plays like the MDC/ Leo J Martin CC in Weston, MA.
Pace of play? Well , the two times I played with friends....there were a lot of young boys out there in ages of 11- 16 years old....so don't expect a fast round! I would say pace of play is a average to a slow Front nine holes is much easier than back nine holes- back nine is tree lined/tight and a lot more inclines to climb. Tough holes are 11 dogleg left , 12, 14, 16 all carry -par 3 , 17 , 18
Good Bar with TV's, cold beer and decent club/bar food. Bartenders and course staff are friendly.
Golf leagues start around 300pm on weekdays so need to get out before 115pm if want to play 18 holes.
You need to go in with "modest expectations " with regard to the golf course conditions. You get what you pay for. But you will enjoy it....challenging layout.
