Robert T. Lynch Municipal - Brookline Golf Course
About
Brookline Golf Course at Robert T. Lynch Municipal sits on a parcel of land that was originally designated by the town as a bird sanctuary. Many varieties of birds still call the course home. The course is part of the Putterham property, which also includes Brookline Golf Club. It may be difficult to get into the renowned Brookline Country Club, the owner of Putterham Meadows, but Brookline Golf Club and the Robert T. Lynch Course provide great public options. The Robert T. Lynch Course is smaller than the other public golf course at Putterham, but it is no less challenging. The fairways are seemingly open and flat, but don't be fooled because placement within them is key if you don't want any blocked angles. The tricky greens are often elevated, and some are multi-tiered. The golf course may be short, but it's a formidable test.

Good time at Brookline
Best course condition in years and great staff as always.
The course is ok and friendly staff.
Great deal from golfnow. Course is fine considering the amount of rainfall we got although the pace of play was slow.
It's a beautiful course that needs some serious work.
I played on a very hot day. It's a beautiful course, and the price is right. The field definitely needs some work.
Swampy
The course was extremely wet and may have led to the poor conditions. The pace of play was extremely slow,,, we left after 9 holes (2:45)
find it hard to believe I paid 65 for a Sat play and only 31 on golf now and when i got there the price was available for 22!!
local, easy access and long. ranger should check on the slow groups. had to wait for a 2 some while we were a 4 some, should never happen. By the 6 th hole, they had a full hole opening!!!!! A full hole. They should have let us play through. Kills the flow of play.
Muni-golf?... Look again
Don't let the words muni and golf give you the wrong impression of a golf course played in NE. Not only do you feel like your on an historical New England golf course, this muni actually puts your golf game to a real test of your golf skills. A municipal golf course with a touch of NE pride, Each hole fills the eye with challenges, placing the golfball to score on that hole. Smallish greens, once hit, every putt seems makeable. Better bring the straight ball here, or at least the baby cut or draw.
Wet
I have played this course about 10 times and the conditions never get better. The greens had been aerated recently and putting the ball was near impossible. The course is constantly wet even in the summer probably due to the small streams running around it.
There are yardage markers in the ground but nothing on the sprinkler heads. It is really frustrating. They should just invest in some yardage sticks and put them in the fairways.
Course needs a lot of attention
I have played here in the past and thought I knew what I was getting myself into but I was very disappointed dispite my low expectations coming in. The course was either saturated with over grown grass or dry patchy areas where nothing has grown in. The greens were in the worst condition I have ever seen them. I hate to leave negative reviews but this was just a terrible experience.
This course needs an upgrade!
This course could be beautiful but needs major work. Fairways and greens are very rough and dry.....rain forecast this coming week may help. There is some maintenance work being done on the drainage system on the 10th and 11th holes.
Great track; good course
Well designed little muni that gives away 3or4 holes to start then gives you a challenge on the remainder.....tough drainage makes post-rain days tough.....greens that look very rough but always seem to roll out and roll true.
Good course
This course is offered frequently on GolfNow and for the money is a great place to play. It's biggest problem is drainage which seems not to have been too much of a problem last time even after some preceding rainy days.
too expensive for poor quality
I was called the day before and asked to move my tee time to an hour earlier. I obliged and when I showed up I had 12 people ask me what group I was with and then tell me where to go. 12 starters and NOBODY on the course enforcing pace of play.
Let's see there was standing water in fairways, trenches that cut across fairways, rude staff... but the greens were in good shape.
Overall, I can't say I'll be coming back anytime soon.
