Nice Municipal Course - very well kept
For single digit handicaps, blue tees are a must. Whites measure ~6000 yards. Lots of doglegs, some tight. Played white tees, from there there's virtually no need to hit driver. A few holes had trees in the fairway off the tee box... which seemed a bit goofy, but added a dynamic to some otherwise short holes.
Everything is very well maintained, most greens had a fair amount of slope, not a ton of undulation. Given the course is short, it plays on the slow side if below average golfers are out there. Greens were slow even after the dew cleared. Some of the tee boxes very close to greens... so not the most quiet course I've played.
Drove 25 miles to play here... I'm sure I'll make the trip again sometime.
Cannot fault the place
I play a lot of golf now rounds and never write reviews, until now. I was an out of state single booking through golf now, everyone’s nightmare right but they treated me like I was a member. Everyone from the pro shop to the starter to Cathy and Eric in the restaurant. Course was in great shape and the greens were quick for this time of the year. It’s public but it shines
Trees in the middle of the fairway?
Chicopee CC is in excellent condition. The greens rolled very pure but provided challenge as they don’t quite break the way you’d expect (pay attention to the grain). There are also a few holes with trees in the middle of your view off the tee or on the second shot from the fairway. The staff was very friendly. I’ll be back to play here again. Give it a shot if you’re looking for good value.
First Time Visit
I'd seen this course rated very favorably over the last few years, when I visited the east coast, but never took the opportunity to play it. I certainly regret that, since I was more the pleasantly surprised. The course was in excellent condition, tees, fairways and greens. There are several challenging holes where course knowledge will help in playing the hole. This course will definitely be on my play list the next time I head east. Without a doubt it is one of my top 3 courses I've played in New England
Great Muni
Course was in great shape. Even though the course was full pace of play was not an issue . One of the best municipal courses in MA. I always try to play this course a few times a year. I drove 2.5 hrs to play which should tell you a lot
Great condition
First time playing this course and have to say Fairways are in great condition. greens are pretty big and roll true. A lot of dog legs and blind spots so can make it a little tricky at times.
