1st time playing Westover, can’t say enough about the course tee box’s fairways greens all well maintained if it wasn’t an hour away would play every week definitely play
Awesome Muni
For all the drought in New England, this course is in excellent shape. Greens fantastic. Sand could use a few stones raked out of them, but then my attitude is just staying out of the darn things and you won't have to worry about that. Great people. Pace is nice 4 hours on a Saturday for 18.
Despite the recent heat wave
The course was in very good shape. It is long and challenging. It was a good deal for the money. With the recent heat wave I thought it would be more burned out being a municipal course. It was surprisingly in very good shape.
Nice course
This course is long which I like. It is also laid out well and pace of play is fair. Course conditions work great
Long course will challenge you.
The course plays long, in good shape, greens are good.
Overall a good experience, the pace was ok, some waiting, put this course on your list.
Worth the drive
This was a super fun course with plenty of challenges. Really appreciated the length from the white tees being 6,700 yd, very rare these days. Definitely helped to have two locals guiding me around the course. If you are a right-handed golfer who fades the ball you will have about a dozen opportunities to sling it around the corner. If you're a left-hander like me who fades the ball, you're in for a real challenge to keep the balls straight. Anything left would put you in danger most holes. But I absolutely loved this track. The greens were as good as any you will find in New England. Super consistent, not racing fast but certainly not close to slow. Really fun to have some par fours play in the 420-430 range. And a couple of excellent par threes. And the added bonus was that it was training day for the Air Force Base, which is right next door, so there was plenty of activity overhead. I'll definitely be heading back despite the 2-hour ride.
Western Mass Gem
Played this course in 4hr 10 min with a foursome. Incredible track with plush settings for a muni. Played the white tees that come in at 6700 yds. A true test for most golfers. The fairways are beautiful blue grass that are in great shape. The greens roll true and are in mint condition. If you like to play different tracks around the country Westover is a must stop on the schedule. If your lucky you'll catch a C5A airplane (the largest plane in the us military) fly down the 12th fairway on approach to the air force base next door.
Great walking course with minimal hills. Finally after a great experience on the course I had a sandwich at the 19th hole and some chips. Awesome food is all I can say!
If your looking for a great day of golf and some good food this is the place.
A true GEM!!!!
