Be Careful of the Fine Print.
I grabbed this deal on GN with the headline reading 18 Holes /cart. Cart is NOT included. According to the staff, they recently updated the contract with GN and the website has not updated the correct information. It’s $72 total. I was paired with another threesome who ran into the same issue. As did the group behind us.
As for the course, it’s in pretty good shape. Greens we’re fast and true, fairways were cut nicely, rough was appropriately punishing. Long enough for the big hitters and scoring chances for those who keep the ball in front of them.
Pace of play was deathly slow. It’s a semi-private course where the entitled members feel this is Augusta and they should be treated as such. Some of the staff tries to be very accommodating and some make you feel like you’re bothering them.
Overall, the course is definitely worth playing. Once.
LACKING EVERYTHING - DUMP
This course used to be a terrific member's club.
They they went semi-private.
Then they went in the toilet.
Let me be clear - this overpriced course has been run into the ground.
No restaurant, no club pro, occasional driving range, part-time outdoor bar, no beer car, no stocked clubhouse. AWFUL.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PLACE.
Always Enjoyed Halifax CC
The Staff Is Friendly And The Course Played Well But Wet In Spots , This Course Can Hold Water on Some Holes But it is a Tough Long Course , I played White Tees and it over 6400 Yards. Shoot 91, I am not a big Hitter But Made A Lot Of Good Shots.
Greens Still Recovering from Recent Aeration
Great staff, great layout, greens sill recovering from recent aeration. Slow greens and slow pace of play with 5 hour round on mid morning tee time. Everyone trying get a round in before Hurricane Lee. Great value! Will try again soon when greens fully recover.
Good course
Definitely go back and will definitely recommend to friends
great venue
great experience at Halifax CC. The course is in really excellent shape. Parkland setup - think Augusta National meets Bushwood. Fastest greens I have played in quite a while - it gets tricky. Staff was friendly. Some R&R needed for the off-course amenities, but they're working on it.
Best greens
Great greens highlight this challenging track. Back nine is sneaky long and requires good strategy on approach shots. Real good test for the money and in great condition. Highly recommended
