Best greens
Great greens highlight this challenging track. Back nine is sneaky long and requires good strategy on approach shots. Real good test for the money and in great condition. Highly recommended
CC of Halifax
I’ve always liked this track. It is typically in pristine shape. Two topics worth putting out there for discussion (one a GolfNow issue and the other a Halifax problem):
1. GolfNow: App users should be informed if a course has recently aerated its greens. Maybe it was reflected in the price but it was definitely not explicitly mentioned that Halifax had recently aerated the greens so most of them had our putts bouncing all over the place mostly on a base of sand not grass. At least give us the info and we can decide if the price point matches the value in our own individual minds.
2. CC of Halifax - Ever since Shanks (the bar and restaurant) burned down about 5 Years ago or so, the clubhouse is a pathetic excuse for a golf Clubhouse. Also, the course is still in good shape but it is no longer immaculate and seems as though the pride of maintaining the course has also suffered since Shanks demise. While I know membership dues are reasonable it doesn’t mean you all of a sudden cut corners. It is obvious the owners have cash flow problems and I would hazard a guess that there is a regular process if Peter stealing from Paul to pay Penelope. It is clear that is not a viable long-term construct. Hope things get turned back int rh right direction overall as it has always been a great track with great staff and offered excellent food and drinks. Onward and upward….I hope.
Day at HCC
The course was in excellent shape. The pace of play was great. The practice area is very good. The people working the course were very friendly.
Amazing condition
Can’t believe the greens were as good and fast as they were. Especially this time of year, having just opened. Entire course was in top shape. Look forward to playing there regularly.
Winter Golf in Halifax
Lefty paradise. Great track. Played here so many times and will be back. Off course amenities were unavailable due to it being the middle of February. Track was a little wet, but again…February. Pace of play was ok once we got past a foursome who refused to let us play through, causing us to skip hole 6.
