For
Slow starting, too many people not ready to play, too many people looking for balls.
Overall , learn to play ready golf. Carry more then one club with you to the ball. Cart management.
Will Come Back
I always liked this course. They seem to be keeping* it great shape. Gets better every year.
Good Value
Always good deals on Golf Now. They keep the course in good shape. Greens are usually rolling true and in great condition. Overall good track. I enjoy playing here.
On its way there
Course is still under construction on few holes. Once that is complete it will be much better. Solid track overall especially for price through golfnow app
Mix of content
while its a little sad to see they shortened two par 4s on the front, the changes are professionally done and the new holes, while clearly different, align with the course pretty well. (holes 8 & 9)
for a 60 dollar course, it's in great shape. greens are excellent and smooth. its a bit annoying that some greens have significantly different speeds than others. However, it seems intentional to maintain pace of play and most golfers wont care.
And pace of play is a point of emphasis here with rangers regularly driving the course and speeding folks up and helping. Big Gold Star for this!!!!
Horrible pace of play
If you don’t want to tee off on time or play 18 in less than 6 hours don’t bother. Staff was rude and because of the rain the day prior they booked tee times too close together. Spent more time sitting waiting than playing. Left after a atrocious 9 holes.
Fore Better or Worse
Played Crystal Lake for over 30 years. Its gone from Country Club to crap and back close to Country Club conditions under Sterling mgmt. They’ve added new homes between the 8th and 9th, shortening the front nine considerably, 9 is now a 150 yd par 3 and 8 has a new green to the right. Tee to pin, conditions are mostly excellent, manicured sand traps too. Cart path only is a real challenge but the fairways were swampy in spots. Probably go back once more this summer.
Slowest pase of play ever… took 7 hours!
I get that people come here to drink but the pace of play was ridiculous! Group in front of us was leaving the course to grab drinks at the “clubhouse” while we waited to play. Greens were decent, the lake is pretty, couldn’t find our balls on one hole which faces the water (I think the group in front picked up our balls).
