Perfect Friday
Perfect sunny Friday in August. A couple of the greens on the front 9 were in tough shape from the sun (was an extremely dry summer). The course has amazing views on a few tee boxes of Boston. Looking forward to playing more. Healthy mix of challenging holes but not intimidating for a beginner.
Cramped But Fun
It's kind of impressive how much course they cram into such a small space but it works. You absolutely need to keep your head on a swivel as golf balls are flying everywhere since the course is so snug. View of the city from the top of the course is pretty nice and significantly cheaper than what ti takes to get the same view from Granite Links.
Best bang for your buck near Boston
It's a shame this course has so few reviews on here. For a short drive from the city, this is a great deal. The course is relatively short, but it doesn't lack for interesting hole designs to keep your round entertaining. A few holes (especially on the back 9) that challenge you to play risky while also offering a safe approach. It's a fun course for most golfers - I've played here with low single digit handicappers and they've enjoyed it as well. Great views of Boston on a hole or two.
It can definitely get crowded on the weekends, but the twilight rate in the summer is awesome and generally not too busy. Shout out to the folks in the pro shop too, they are a pleasure to deal with.
Great City Course
Presidents golf course is a great city course, tucked in North Quincy. Most holes are fairly tight, bordering other fairways so you definitely feel a bit vulnerable to stray shots. The greens look phenomenal for an affordable muni though, it is a challenging and fun course. I walked it and as a fairly fit 25 y.o...it was workout. Be wary of this if you are planning to walk. Awesome view of the city on #4 though and the par #5 dogleg is a lot of fun. Would absolutely recommend this course to anyone looking to play near the city on a budget.
Fun but Challenging Course with an Unreal View of Boston
We played a Friday morning round and thought it was a nice experience. It is a fairly challenging course with a few blind shots and others with a risk/reward shot built in. For example: few of the par 4's were not really long, but forced you into a tough layup spot and an even tougher shot at the green.
Make sure you take a cart because there is a ton of elevation changes. It is a course that is squeezed into a small and busy area south of the city, so it will be narrow at times.
The fourth tee has an outstanding view of the city on a clear day. It really is very cool to see and we were totally shocked by it. Worth a few photos for sure.
It's a course that you will definitely play better the second time around, but still fun and challenging to begin with.
