It's not often I put a divot in the green, but I took the complimentary tool and low and behold I needed it! Photo submitted by O2GrampaThom on 10/05/2019
Too many sandbaggers
Pace of play was soooo slow. No ranger or staff out on the course what so ever. Golfers just skipping around from hole to hole and cutting others off. Proper golf attire was not required, hence all the sandbaggers on the course. I’ll never play at this joke of a course again!
Winter Golf Bad
I don't expect ideal conditions in January, but could not find a person to get key for cart. Mud ruts all over the fairways, greens had branches on them and one had a big gouge in it where a tree had fallen. This course has had zero upkeep done !
Course was under fall repair; understandable. I'm anxious to play it in the spring.
What Ever Happened
Hillside was never in the best of condition, but it is utterly deplorable now. I understand that they are working on the tee boxes, so they are moved to bad locations, but much of the course is in rough shape, although the greens were pretty good. Almost all the golf carts have rips in the seats and seem to never have been cleaned. It's a pity, because it's a beautiful setting.
Not great
Course doesn't handle water well....Some of the tees were dirt....20 bucks for 9 holes is a good deal, but I would never pay full price to play there!
A hidden gem.
Excellent course and challenging. Staff was extremely friendly and courteous. Would highly recommend for any level player.
Awesome Course
Excellent 9 Hole golf course and fun to play. Would highly recommend it. Excellent outdoor patio bar for food and drinks. Extremely friendly and courteous staff.
Had a blast, weather was amazing and the overall experience was worth the price. Fantastic staff all around! Would definitely come back.
Rough conditions
Played here a couple years ago and didn’t quite remember how beat up it is, first hole and last 3 holes are manicured because you can see them from the wedding venue areas, the rest seems to be a bit forgotten about, not crazy about the layout either, balls coming at you from all over.
It's fine but could be much better
The course was interesting, links style to the extreme. Little to not trees between last 5-6 holes which isn't great for a course where players are from beginner to above average. Shots were constantly going across other holes, had to wait almost every hole for others to play or get their ball off our hole. Normally this isn't a big issue but it is fairly hilly and there is no great way to know if you are hitting into someone or not. Conditions were not great either, lots of dirt and rock on half the holes between tee box and fairway but also along some fairways. Greens were in pretty good condition. It's fine for the price but their are better options locally for the same price.
An air strike
Is what this course needs, have never written an online review in my life until this, playing the 2nd and 3'rd holes is like playing on the surface of the moon, a free word of advice if management should see this, GOLF COURSES USUALLY HAVE GRASS, I lost more balls on this one course than I think I have in my entire life due to richochets off the off the lunar surface . Tee boxes are like like trying to tee off from an asphalt parking lot,if management see this please see my first word of advice above . After our round went to the onsite bar, location would be great if staff had any clue what they are doing and prices are asinine. It took forever to get our order,we literally could have driven somewhere to go get food and return and still had time to spare .I got chicken wings that appeared to actually been off a pigeon, had absolutely no meat on them , all our food appeared to be food service frozen food. A total waste of a day and money and will never return and will tell anyone I know to avoid like this course like the plague
Hillside
Course was somewhat of a disappointment. I played it a few years ago and was shocked at its current condition. Tee boxes were so hard that it was difficult to put a tee in the ground. Bunkers need love and care. #3 par 5 fairway is so bad that everyone I talked to about it complained about losing a ball because they bounced on the rocks and packed dirt an careened off the fairway into the rough or the woods. Great layout that needs to be maintained by the staff.
Better hangout than a golf course.
I play in a league here, simply because other nearby leagues are full.
The course is in terrible condition and is barely maintained. Tee boxes are chewed up, basically pavement. Fairways are rocky with barely a patch of grass to be found. Your best shots will be punished by landing in dirt and rocks and jettisoned off into God knows where. I average 3 lost balls over 9 holes, presumably because the bounces are unpredictable.
Course is by all means difficult, and I am an average golfer. You'll find yourself trying to make pinch shots, under, over and around trees and rocks, which punish a 10-15yard miss.
Takes over to 2 hours for 9 holes, which is insane for such a short course(2× 300yd par 4s, 2x 150yd par 3s, and sub 500yd par 5's). I believe this has to do with even average golfers dealing with unpredictable conditions.
Below photo is of electrical wires for irrigation laying in a puddle.
The saving grace for this course is the tiki bar and pool, which seems to be where the management is focusing all of their attention. But don't plan on a quick bite after a round. Average service takes 45 minutes.
Great course to play
Have played this course several times and have always enjoyed playing here. Challenge for all type players. Course could use a little bit of TLC & pace of play could be improved upon. Very friendly staff
Great course
It’s always a pleasure to play this course. Perfect layout for my type of golf. Very friendly staff, some of fairways can use a bit f TLC. Looking forward to playing this course again
The fairway were brutal / very poor greens were good
It’s hard to believe how bad the fairways were! Owners should be embarrassed to let golfers out without warning them of conditions.
Great course
Being a recreational golfer I find this course to suit my type of play. I don’t golf at pristine courses & I am more than satisfied satisfied playing here. I always find staff very friendly
Friendly Staff
Pretty nice layout with very well kept greens. Most but not all, of the tee boxes and fairways need some attention. Kirsten at the front desk was very helpful and cheery
Got a great round of applause when I made a tough putt to save par on the last hole (right beside the outside dining. That alone will get me back.;).
