Pace of play is of concern
This is the second time I've played Rockland, and it was a little worse than before. The staff is always tremendously friendly and nice, the amenities are good, the course itself is laid out well, and kept up as far as a mid to lower end country club is expected to be. The biggest complaint is the pace of play. I had a tee time, and when I arrived there were people late that they were trying to cram into other groups. Instead of spreading out the tee times, they have them so close you're bound to be stuck behind some groups. I was put with a very sweet, and nice woman Karen, and two other gentlemen, and Karen and I waited 20 minutes past our original Tee time for the two gentlemen, which I know happens but nonetheless, aggravating. Even with that time gap, the senior citizen lady group in front of us just finished the first hole by the time we started. Thankfully it opened up later, but the pace of play would be my only real complaint.
Other than that the course, although a par 3, still had some longer holes, and tricky ones as well. Definitely going back, hopefully on a not so busy day.
Hidden Gem
We live relatively close but never thought to go to this course. It is a fun par 3. They where kind and let by special needs son ride in the cart at no charge. They have a bar and restaurant that we used for an early dinner. Staff was super friendly.
A great place to practice
This is 18 par 3, don't let that fool you. 6 holes are over 200 yards from the back tees. Conditions are now a 7+, 2 weeks ago they were a 6. Greens are done being punched and they are getting better all the time. Staff, very nice and the pro shop is loaded with merchandise. The bar and food are way better than expected. Lastly pace of play is awesome.
To expensive for this course
Need to lower price Ridders so much cheaper and no a par 3 course and well maintained
